Roberto Vidal Bolaño was a Galician playwright and actor being honored on Galician Literature Day. He was born in 1950 in Santiago de Compostela and wrote many plays in Galician to promote the language and experiment with theater. Vidal Bolaño also acted in films and television shows throughout his career before passing away in 2002, leaving a significant impact on Galician literature and theater through his critically acclaimed works.

With his theatre production he tried to give us a critical
approach to the society of his time and the events taking place
then.
He also tried to renovate and restore the importance of the
Galician theatre. Criticism, innovation , experimentation &
independence are the main characteristics of his work.
He wrote, he acted and he lived in Gallego in a period when
Gallego speakers and writers were not really well considered.

He was an excellent author and theatre writer .

His figure and his works are considered essential in the
Galician theatre.
He is not only honored in Galicia but also in the rest of
Spain ( Complutense University in Madrid; the Basque
University ; Deusto) but also in foreign countries such as
Rusia, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Portugal and UK.
