Objective
To acquire a challenging and rewarding job in the field of engineering where I can utilize my
experience in mechanical control systems design and certification as well as supplier integration to
assist a company in improving their efficiency and quality.
Professional Summary
Mechanical design experience in hydraulic, brake, steering and landing gear control systems
FAA certification experience
Supplier integration management
Experience
Senior Engineer Learjet, Wichita, KS March 2011-2015
Served as the lead Landing Gear Systems engineer on the Learjet 85 Business Jet, specializing in
Hydraulic Power Generation, Brake, Steering and Landing Gear Extension/Retraction Systems.
Integrated design and aircraft interface requirements definition of these systems with the primary
suppliers, Eaton and Messier Bugatti Dowty.
Assisted with writing and approving aircraft and system level requirements ensuring that each
would be met through certification component, system, and aircraft ground and flight testing.
Influenced aircraft and system level design decisions by organizing and conducting Preliminary,
Critical and Interface Definition Documentation design reviews with the supplier and other
system engineering disciplines.
Coordinated side-by-side with UM's and DER's to ensure all supplier component drawings and
qualification test procedures met FAA requirements and were executed flawlessly from start to
finish according to the Certification Plans approved by the FAA.
Teamed well in a diverse culture with colleagues from Canada and suppliers from France and
Germany in executing program objectives. Leveraged different cultural aspects from these teams
to improve control system designs in new and innovative ways for the customer.
Tackled complex software monitor issues on the Brake Control System and assisted the supplier
in multiple redesigns of the system controller's software to avoid and prevent nuisance software
monitors from tripping. This ensured a successful first flight of the L85 and continued
airworthiness as it accumulated more than 70 test flights without major issues.
Led multiple component and aircraft level issue investigations from discovery through
implementation. As a result, held multi-disciplined design reviews and presented design change
concepts to a Technical Review Board to gain redesign approval.
Mentored and managed a Cooperative Education Student for one year. Assigned daily, weekly
and monthly tasks while monitoring and providing guidance his progress.
Supported the Final Assembly Line (FAL) by writing and approving system level Functional Test
Engineering Requirements so adequate Functional Test Procedures could be written and
executed. Also assisted FAL engineers in troubleshooting system and aircraft level issues.
Partnered with pilots and engineers from the Bombardier Flight Test Center in reviewing and
approving ground and flight test procedures, issuing restrictions and special instructions for the
aircraft and troubleshooting system level issues found during ground and flight test.

Engineer II Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, Wichita, KS March 2007-2011
Served as lead engineer on the re-design of the landing gear control handle for T-6A military
trainer. Developed and successfully executed certification plan by passing software, stress,
endurance and environmental testing. Led efforts in successfully writing and conducting ground
and flight test procedures. Worked directly with program office, flight test, supplier and FAA.
Assisted in concept development, design, and testing of nose landing gear (NLG) friction collar.
Successfully identified 'Shimmy Fix' on NLG utilizing Design of Experiment knowledge.
Managed customer Deficiency Responses (DR’s) for the Mechanical Systems group.
Handpicked to represent Government Business on a team to reduce FAA Cert. Plan creation to
release cycle time for the company. Proposed and led the solution adopted by senior leadership.
Assumed senior engineer role on multiple projects by checking and approving designs for
accuracy, reliability and producibility on multiple systems, including the T-6A to B conversion.
Engineer I Raytheon Aircraft Company, Wichita, KS June 2004-2007
Successfully re-designed and coordinated FAA testing of new main landing gear components.
Assisted in the complete FAA certification of the design. Simultaneously self-taught and became
proficient in CATIA V.4 in accomplishing the re-design in less than 3 months.
Partnered in the complete re-design and FAA certification of the rudder pedal pivot joint that had
cracked in the field. Provided a timely, fully certified solution to the customer in 3 weeks.
