 Accident is unplanned, uncontrolled thing that affects the living 
and non living organisms.
Causes of accidents 
1. Defective vehicles. 
2. Drivers. 
3. Road design. 
4. Traffic volume. 
5. Weather.
Road accident statistics 
 In India 1,40,000 peoples were died in road accident in 2013 
and in 2012 1,35,000 peoples. 
 1 child is killed in every 3 minutes in the world.

Technological Suggestion 
 Make use of the existing Road Safety Devices.
A minor thing for the masses 
is greater than a massive mission !!!
Educational Suggestions 
 Safety awareness should begin from childhood, as it is difficult 
to impart awareness to a grown up human. 
 If safety awareness is imparted in childhood itself, safety will 
become a habit. 
 Video and Computer games involving Motor Racing should be 
controlled or discouraged by parents as it will develop racing 
habit in children.
Enforcement Related Suggestions 
 Strict enforcement of speed limits. 
 Helmet should be made compulsory for two wheeler riders. 
 Follow the traffic rules.
Infrastructural Suggestions 
 Means of mass transportation like Metro Rail, BRT should be 
implemented in all major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Banglore,etc 
 Provision of effective Public Transportation systems as Local 
trains, buses than individual vehicles. 
 Provision is made for water transportation also.

 Extend concessions to promote goods transport by rail.
