• In the event of an accident, AMEGA protocol will be followed:
A. Assess the situation
M. Make area safe – move students to safety
E. Emergency aid – prioritise ABC

A. Deal with Aftermath
• In the event of an accident, Hurtwood Emergency procedure will be followed
(attached).
• Students briefed about safety and appropriate behaviour prior to departure
• Students briefed about walking safely to and from taxi and with regard to the
public.

• Staff to carry list of student contact numbers.
• Regular face to face and headcount checks will be undertaken.
• Head count will be taken before journeys
• Staff to contact student once discovered missing – directly and through
friends in the same group.
• If student has not been located after 20 mins, school will be contacted.
• After 30 mins and in accordance with advice received from SMT, police will
be contacted.

medication/inhalers with them. Party leader will check prior to departure.
• Students with food allergies/intolerances reminded to take care when

will be sought if necessary.
Slip, trip or fall
– minor injury
• School will be contacted for care instructions and safe transfer of student.
• If staff member becomes ill, he will contact school immediately
• The nearest hospital to the venue is detailed above.

S & S • Students and staff have been trained in safe operation of equipment
• All advised not to carry more than one piece of baggage at a time and
to carry heavy bags between two persons
• Lighting will only be used if necessary and any fixed lights will be
monitored by member of staff to ensure they are in safe position
• A perimeter will be maintained around the wall of the studio to ensure
that there is a safe route to the fire exit
