Ninety two percent of IT decision makers at large companies
said they will “definitely or probably” expand their data center
1 footprint in 2012, the highest number in the six-year history of
    the survey - Digital Realty,

The number of smartphones is projected to rise from 500
2 million in 2011 to 2 billion by 2015
    (International Telecommunications Union).

By 2012, customer spending on IT cloud services will grow
3 almost threefold, to spending on IDC
By 2012, customer $42 billion - IT cloud services will grow
    almost threefold, to $42 billion
Global IP traffic has increased eightfold over the past 5 years,
and will increase fourfold over the next 5 years. Overall, IP
4 to 2015will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of
    Traffic
    32 percent from 2010 to 2015. - Cisco VNI

5 83 percent surveyed planning to expand their datacenter
facilities in the next 12 to 24 months – internetnews.com

In 5 years the number of Internet users has jumped from 1.043

2.11 billion (30%, June 2011) (source: Internet World Stats).

Data centers are also getting bigger. Even in a down
economy, data centers have been expanding in size with 44.2
percent occupying more floor space that they did three years
7 ago. Another 49.4 percent are currently in the process of
expanding or are planning to in the near future – AFSCOM

Data Center - Colocation - Cloud

What can a data center or colocation provide?

       Physical space and bandwidth
Redundant power, cooling, and enhanced physical security
Connectivity to telecommunication and network services with
       reduced cost and complexity
       Enhanced monitoring with remote access
       Hybrid, Virtual, and Hosted Services
Cloud offerings including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as
a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Data Center - Colocation - Cloud

What are your driving factors for data center,
             colocation, and cloud services?
Can’t or do not want to do it yourself
Capital expense – No money, No opportunity, better way to spend
Consolidation – Meeting your Budget, more for less
Sustainability – environmental needs aligned with community and
       business responsibility
Rapid technology deployment – ease of growth and expansion
       Disaster Recovery – off-site, N+1 redundancy
Virtualization – the ability to deploy new applications and services
       using dedicated servers
Data Center - Colocation - Cloud

                      What are cloud services?

Software as a Service (SaaS) a DEPLOYMENT MODEL - whereby a provider
licenses an application to customers as a subscription service.

Platform as a Service (PaaS) a DEVELOPMENT MODEL - providing a
solution stack that the consumer can use to design on-demand web-based
 applications.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) a INFRASTRUCTURE MODEL - in which
an organization outsources the equipment used to support operations, including
storage, hardware, servers and networking components.
