The 4,000 square foot home has smart home functionality and was last sold in 2004 for $850,000. Estes/Twombly Architects received three awards from the American Institute of Architects Rhode Island for residential design projects, including a pool house in Little Compton overlooking a tidal marsh, a cottage renovation in Westport, Massachusetts, and a three-building compound on an island in Mystic, Connecticut.

An historic waterfront home in the Buttonwoods section of Warwick, at 339
Promenade Ave., was sold Monday for $1,875,000, Mott & Chace Sotheby's
International Realty announced.
The sellers were represented by Bettina Monaco of Mott & Chace. The buyers
were represented by Ron Phipps of Phipps Realty.
According to town records, the home was last sold in 2004 for $850,000 and the
seller in Monday's sale was the Deborah Sears-Grace Trust. The house has more
than 4,000 square feet of living space and has "smart-home functionality,"
according to Monaco.
Mott & Chace said that according to data from the Rhode Island Statewide
Multiple Listing Service, this is the second highest-priced sale in Warwick year-
to-date, and it has represented the sellers in both of Warwick's top two sales so
far in 2016.
Estes/Twombly honored
Estes/Twombly Architects of Newport received three awards at the annual
American Institute of Architects Rhode Island Design Awards Celebration, held
Dec. 1 at at Linden Place in Bristol.

2. One award was for a Little Compton pool house/studio perched over a tidal
marsh. It blends large areas of glass and contemporary forms with local field
stone.
Another house, on the Westport River in Westport, Mass., is a renovation of a
small cottage with a new studio and shed. Linked by fences and landscaping, the
three buildings form a small compound and create privacy from a nearby street.
The last house is on an island in Mystic, Conn., and consists of three single-story
gabled buildings with glass connectors.
There were more than 50 submissions with 11 projects receiving awards and
only four awards in the residential category. Kite Architects won an award for a
residential property design on Prospect Street in Providence.
Other honorees included Northeast Collaborative Architects, for the renovation
of the historic warehouse on South Main Street in Providence, now an office of
Lila Delman Real Estate International.
