Look at the Process
•Who talks – first?
•Where will you stage the media in relation to the incident?
•Who is in charge?
•Who is coordinating?
•What are your assets to support a large, continued operation?
•Can your boss face the press?
•Do you have depth for round the clock operations?
•If the worst happened today, could we accomplish the
mission?
“Get off the beach!”
Don’t wait to begin

Editor's Notes

  1. We know why we are here. It took terrorism to make us look at how we can do this better. Our war is on 2 fronts – the actual war on terrorism and a communications and pr battleplan to inform, educate the public.
  2. Chaos into cohesion. These developments will harmonize all pre-existing plans.
  3. This is our draft battleplan.
  4. How many people thought this was terrorism? How many thought it was unintended? How many thought it was natural – storm related?
  5. In combat. Everyone is scared. Those that survive do something about it. Normandy D-day. Stop or Go – decisions’ up to you. Bad stuff will happen. Only through planning, good relationships and communication will we achieve success.
