2. What is Rewriting?
Rewriting is the process of going through a rough draft
and fixing things that don’t work for you, whether that’s changing the
word choice in a single sentence or cutting entire sections that feel
like fluff. Rewriting is the part of the editing process that usually
refers to the larger changes that comprise a whole new draft. If you
put real work into your rewrite, a good piece of writing can become
great.
Academic writing also needs rewriting to write the
required academic document/ paper in the best way. Rewriting
process in academic writing may change about 60% of the
written academic content of academic document/ paper. Also,
rewriting in academic writing may require deleting paragraphs,
reforming paragraphs and rearranging paragraphs in academic
document/ paper.

3. When you’re writing something for the first time—especially if it’s a
longer piece of creative writing—you probably won’t know exactly where things
are going until the whole thing is finished. Once you’ve finished your first rough
draft, you can start the rewriting process, taking everything you learned from the
old version and using it to strengthen subsequent drafts. Rewriting is all about
finding surprises along the way and starting to tease out the shape of your story.

4. Rewriting allows us to explore endless creative writing ideas. It gives
you the chance to explore different options and alternative possibilities for your
writing. It’s a process all about experimenting and playing with possibilities.
Each time you revisit your story or your text, you’re gaining
experience, learning about your own writing style, and your habits. It can be a
very eye-opening process.
We may not notice it immediately, but rewriting helps develop skills,
such as patience and resilience. We might not get the result we want straight
away, but we keep going, keep working away at our writing.
As Natalie Goldberg says in Writing Down The Bones, ‘Often I
will stab many times at something I want to say.’ The words don’t always
come easy, but rewriting allows us to play until we find them.

5. 1. You should learn how to look away from the source and then write about what
you have read. For that, you have to read the whole text several times and use
your own words to say what you understood from that. Think about how would
you restate it to someone else. It is a good idea to take notes while reading the
text. They could help you to create the draft and the order.
2. Remember about changing the structure. Start at a different place in the
passage or the sentence and base your choice on the topic of your work in
that way.
3. Drop big sentences and combine short ones, do your own conclusions from
each passage. While doing that change words and eliminate some of them.
4. Changing words might be one of the most important, but not the only thing of
paraphrasing. Find synonyms and use them or phrases that express the same
meaning. But you have to leave quotes unchanged. Don’t forget to use
quotation marks.

6. 5. While rewriting, you must drive your attention at the most valuable and
interesting sentences. Maybe you should miss a piece of information and
add another instead. In some situation, it would be also a good idea to
write about something combining it with your own experience or
conclusions.
6. An appropriate format of writing, a style, and a capacity shouldn’t be
undervalued! Paraphrasing a document, paraphrasing an article and MLA
paraphrasing isn’t the same.
7. What you could write for the one, you mustn’t write for the another. Think
about that thoroughly.
8. At the end of the work, you should proofread the rewritten paper. You can
do all the work by yourself or find a reliable essay paraphrasing service, it
doesn’t matter. The quality and the result matter.
9. At the end of the paper, you might record the source and the page of
information that you used to create your own text.

7. What is Proof-Reading?
Proofreading is an activity of checking for errors with read carefully
in the text before it is published or shared. This is the last step of the writing
process, it's like when you fix spelling mistakes, punctuation marks, typos,
formatting issues and etc.
The function of proof-reading is make sure that there are no
incorrect writing (typo), inconsistent use of certain terms, or correcting difficult-
to-understand sentence structure (not according to EYD for Indonesian), a
sentences that are not standardized and ineffective and lack of coherence
between paragraphs. The point is, make sure there are no mistakes in writing.

8.  Where does the proof-reading apply?
Proofreading can and should be applied to most form of
assessment like essay, journal article, report, book, presentation etc.
remember that proofreading important in personal and professional
context too. It's like email, job application and another.
 Why proof-reading important?
There are two reason why proofread is important.
First is judgement, Writing mistakes that we make if known
to others can make them think negatively of us or our writing.
And the second is that we look like lazy people because we
have many mistakes in writing and don't correct them before publishing.
“Try to get into the habit of proofreading everything we
write – it’s worth spending a few extra moments on any
piece of work we do to make sure it is the best we can
make it”.

9. Tips for Proof-Reading:
1. Take a break between writing and proof-
reading.
2. Read through your paper several times with
carefully.
3. Use the spell-checker application and also
do your own spell-checking.
4. Ask someone else to check.

10. Re-Writing and Proof-Reading are the very last step in the writing
process. However, just because it comes last, does not mean that it is the least
important. They are ensures that the document is completely free of errors and
polished to a high standard.
Re-Writing and Proof-Reading are the most important and beneficial
ways to ensure that what we are writing will not lead to any misunderstandings or
make us sound unprofessional. We are all human, and nobody is perfect, but the
last thing we need is for an individual (especially one we are looking to impress)
to disregard or be perplexed by what we are trying to say due to a spelling or
grammar issue. This is why re-writing and proof-reading are such important
aspects to writing.
