Application process
Revised Integrated Housing Scheme for workers is being implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The Revised Integrated Housing Scheme (RIHS), 2016 has been launched for workers. The Scheme was started in 1989. It was previously revised in 1994, 2001, 2004 and 2007. The present scheme was revised in 2016 and is in effect from 02.03.2016.
Land Acquisition is one of the most important activities when we have to start a Project, but we don't yet have an Act satisfying all sections of Society and implementable without affecting the viability of the Project
UAPVP launched many schemes available for different segments of the society including EWS, LIG, MIG, BPL and HIG categories.
UPAVP the development agency of Uttar Pradesh know as Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad is going to implement the government housing mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
About 20,000 houses will be constructed in the state.
On the construction of housing units, the UPAVP will spend about Rs. 3,000 Crore and the implementation work will be started once it get the approval from the government.
The comprehensive plan for Fiscal year 2017-18 has been prepared by the agency and the houses units in these projects will be constructed under UP government Vrindavan & Awadh Vihar Yojana.
Under PMAY UP, about 2,000 houses have been registered by the government and creating further plan for the scheme, the UPAVP is planning to open the registrations for additional 3,000 houses.

Bonded Labour System has been abolished by law throughout the country with effect from 25th October, 1975 under the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Ordinance which was replaced by the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976. Provision of Urban Amenities to Rural Areas (PURA) is a strategy for rural development in India. This concept was given by former president Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and discussed in his book Target 3 Billion which he co-authored with Srijan Pal Singh. • Recognising the need for state support in enabling citizens to realise
the right to adequate shelter, a fundamental right under Article 21 of
the Indian Constitution,
• The Ministry of Labour and Employment released the guidelines for
the Revised Integrated Housing Scheme, 2016
3. History
Initially started for the Beedi/Non-Coal mine
workers in the year 1989
The scheme was named the Revised Integrated
Housing Scheme (RIHS) for the first time in 2004
After increasing the central subsidy multiple times
into Revised Integrated Housing Scheme in 2016
4. Intended beneficiaries
Workers in
• Iron ore mines,
• manganese ore mines
• chrome ore mines
• limestone ore mines
• dolomite ore mines
• mica mines
• beedi industries and
• cine industries.
5. Mandatory conditions
• Should be registered with the Labour Welfare Organisation.
• Have Aadhaar registration.
• Possess a Jan Dhan bank account.
• Do not own any other pucca house in Indian territory in their own, their
spouse’s, or their dependent’s name
• Have not availed any housing subsidy in the past from either the Central or
the State Government in their name or their spouse’s name or their
dependent’s name.
• Have land in their name, or own land along with other family members, or
have been allotted or leased land by the State government or Gram Sabha
6. Entitlement
• Subsidy amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh to the beneficiary to construct only
one house during their lifetime
• The house must be constructed within 18 months, and must adhere
to local building regulations
• The subsidy amount is released in 3 stages through Direct Benefit
Transfer—
• 25 % in advance (Rs. 37,500),
• 60 % on reaching the lintel level (Rs. 90,000), and
• 15 % after completion of construction and
• Report of inspection by the Labour Welfare Organisation (Rs. 22,500).
7. Standards and Specifications
The constructed house must:
• Have a road connection.
• Have basic facilities such as electricity, drinking water, sanitation, and water
storage.
• Include at least two bedrooms or hall with kitchen, a bathroom, a toilet, and a
closet for drying clothes.
• Comply with earthquake-resistance norms formulated by the Central Building
Research Institute.
• Have an estimated life of at least 50 years.
