The client challenged designers to interpret the work of an artist/illustrator architecturally for a bank located near the artist's home and museum. Designers were also asked to reshape an iconic retail form to introduce drive-through services while minimizing demolition impacts and maximizing the original design qualities. Additionally, designers were to create a "third place" atmosphere that fosters community interaction through accessible design, comfortable spaces, and opportunities for socializing, all while accommodating automobile traffic flow.
