PROJECTS
 Feature-Specific Product Review Summarization [ August 2015 – April 2016]
 The idea is to provide the consumers of E-Commerce sites with a summary of the
product reviews on a particular product he intends to buy. Since there are thousands
of reviews on popular sites for each product, the task of finding about the product
using reviews is difficult.
 We hence summarize the reviews for him/her. This summary is generated to be feature-
specific, that is, the user can look at the summary of the reviews pertaining to a single
feature of the product. For example, Camera, Sound Quality etc. for Mobile Phones and
so on.
 Techniques Used - Natural Language Processing Techniques, Machine Learning
Techniques, Data Mining, Information Retrieval, Web Crawling
 Languages Used - Python, MySQL, PHP, JavaScript
 Digitization of Handwritten Documents [ January 2015 – April 2015 ]
 Developed a system that was able to digitize handwritten documents in the form of
notes, reports and other documents.
 This was to help convert documents of earlier decades that were handwritten, to
electronic form, for easier indexing and searching and for improving durability of data.
 Technologies and Tools Used – Neural Networks, Logistic Regression, Image
Segmentation Techniques, and Matlab.
 Oh Sheet! – An Online Real Time Collaborative Spreadsheet Editor [ November 2015]
 This project involved use of technologies of Distributed System to maintain consistency
and synchronize between the copies of a single spreadsheet held by multiple cohorts
in the system. We have tried to mimic the operation of Google Sheets in this project.
 We used Two - Phase Commit Protocol of Distributed Atomic Transactions in this Project
 Technologies and Tools Used – Distributed Algorithms : 2 Phase Commit, Node.js,
Mongo DB
 Offline Exchange (OFX) [ October 2014 ]
 OFX is offline exchange software, mainly for use by hostellers in colleges.
 It is to help hostellers to fulfill their requirements of exchanging, purchasing or selling
second hand items. The students could put on sale as well as purchase items and then
decide on a common location for actual exchange.
 Language Used – Java
 CodeWarriors 2k13, CodeWarriors 2k14 (Avishkar)
 Developed codes that use Artificial Intelligence to compete in a gaming environment
against other such codes.
 2013- Secured 1st
Position in CodeWarriors 2k13. The game was a simple 19*19 2-
Player board game in which one had to maximize the number of his pieces on the
board. If a move caused a closed figure to be formed on the board, the pieces inside
the figure would become the player’s pieces.
 2014- A 9*9 modified Chess Game. Although the basic moves resembled a standard
Chess Game, there were many changes and extra conditions added to the game. The
playing code was implemented using Minimax Trees and Alpha-Beta Pruning.
 Graphical Commander (GrafCom) [ October 2013 ]
 Grafcom is a platform independent graphical command interpreter for Computer
Programmers. It provided a graphical easy-to-use interface to the users to execute
commands in the terminal.
 The application has the ability to set execution timeout and abort execution.
 It uses Apache Commons Exec library for command parsing and asynchronous
execution
 Technologies used: Java, Swing Widget Toolkit, Apache Commons Exec library
