• Responsible for operation and maintenance of Fisons MD-800 GC/MS w/Tekmar
P&T, Perkin Elmer Auto-System GC/FID/ECD w/Tekmar P&T, Perkin Elmer 3300
Flame AA and a Perkin Elmer 4100ZL Graphite Furnace AA.
• Acquisition and maintenance of certification for drinking water, wastewater, solid
waste organics, inorganics, metals and microbiological parameters with NC DWQ
and DHS.
(March 1992 – July 1992) QA Chemist – Volt Technical Services, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
• Contract employee for VTS to Westinghouse for the DOE/WIPP (Department of
Energy/Waste Isolation Pilot Plant).

2016/2000 P&T) and a GC/FID (HP 5890).
(April 1991 – October 1991) GC Operator – Carolina Environmental Laboratories, Sanford,
North Carolina.
• Analyzed groundwater, soil and wastewater samples by EPA methods SW-846
5030/8015, 3550/3510/8015 and 600 series for mainly petroleum contamination.
• Installed, operated and maintained a GC/FID/ECD (Perkin Elmer 8500) and a

• Administered and performed soil stability studies for pesticide registration on a
variety of agricultural crop matrices following GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
regulations for FIFRA, TSCA and FDA.
• Installed, operated and maintained a GC/FID/ECD (Shimadzu 14A), GC/FPD/NPD
(Shimadzu 14A) and a HPLC/UV w/ Pickering post column derivatization system
(Shimadzu 6A).

• Administered and performed a variety of analyses including USDA/FSIS pesticide
residues in animal fat and feed samples, nutritional labeling related to cholesterol,
vitamin and sugar content in food products, VOC, Semi-VOC, pesticides,

samples utilizing EPA, USDA/FSIS and FDA methodologies.
• Installed nine GC’s with FID/ECD/NPD/PID/HALL detector combinations w/ Tekmar

two GPC (ABC Labs). Installation performed after moving to a new location.
• Acquisition and maintenance of organic certification under USDA/FSIS ALP, SDWA
and NPDES were ongoing responsibilities.
