1988-1998 Welder, Fabricator, Receiving clerk, Service technician, Warranty coordinator, Product
Specialist. Harris Waste Management
1. Welder/Fabricator-1988-1993 during my six years in the shop I learned the task of
building balers from the ground up. Every task necessary to complete a baler I have
learned and practiced. When I left the shop area, my duties were to fabricate special
products that others found to hard to build and consumed too much time. I left the shop
area when an opportunity presented itself and was accepted to the position of
receiving clerk.
2. Receiving clerk- My duties as receiving clerk was to revamp its entire process. At the
time I took over, there were no records of what was actually on site, and what was on
back-order. Once I learned the basic computer skills necessary to do the job in the
proper manner, fixing the problem was relatively easy. When I left this position for the
service department there were no problems in receiving.
3. Service Tech – Again, when an opportunity presented itself I ask for the job (Service).
I began as a service tech. Doing anything that needed to be done in office. I was trained
to do start-ups and troubleshooting by my supervisor and other techs. Once affluent in the
process I traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and many foreign countries doing
various installations, start-ups, troubleshooting, and general customer service. This
position was indeed the most rewarding.
4. Warranty Coordinator- In the year 1996, I accepted the call of God to preach the
Gospel. I was licensed to preach in March of that year. My travel began to interfere with
my ministry. Yet at the time I was offered the position of Warranty coordinator. My
duties were to review and expedite all warranty claims in a proficient manner. The main
goal was to reduce warranty cost. This was accomplished and deemed a success.
5. Product Specialist-When I accepted a Pastorate, travel became out of the question. I was
offered a position in the engineering department to learn AutoCAD and prepare General
Arrangement drawings for customers, this lead to revising structural drawings and
developing some logistics for new products. When I was dismissed from the company
due to a lack of a college degree, I was programming Allen Bradley Panel-View systems
as the latest technology. I was trained in this capacity by Allen Bradley at their Tampa,
FL offices.
4. PERSONAL I am 56 years old; I have been married to my beloved wife Terry for 38 years this past June. I
enjoy preaching, going to church, reading, fishing and hunting. We are currently pastoring
Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. I enjoy working and always have. Helping people has been
a part of my nature since the late 80’s. We have a beautiful granddaughter, and daughter and of
course a faithful son-in law.
