PERSONAL STATEMENT
Immediately after my graduate from MS, I have been working for the Hines Cooperative Studies
Program Coordinating Center since 2004. From 2007, I was promoted to study biostatistician,
responsible for planning and implementation of experimental design, statistical analysis, sample size
calculation, randomization, data collection and management, safety and efficacy reporting, and
participating in all other aspects of study design as member of a cross-disciplinary national study team.
Trial experience includes Lung Cancer, Vocal Nodules, Sudden Hearing Lost, PTSD, screening &
surveillance colonoscopy, ALS and rheumatology.
Since I’ve been employed full-time, I have been perusing a PhD of Biostatistics from University of
Illinois at Chicago. During the period, I have taken essential and profound study in biostatistics,
statistics, epidemiology, computer and other related courses, passed the qualification exams and
achieved good standing records. I’m currently in the dissertation phase and plan to graduate in the fall of
2016.

11/07- present Biostatistician, CSPCC of Hines VA hospital
• Participate in protocol team conference calls and meetings, assist principal investigators in the
design of appropriate analyses, write sample size / power calculation and statistical analysis parts,
feasibility, data collection, and so on in protocol drafts, and review other parts for protocol drafts.
• Prepare written summaries and table of results for use in DSMB report and IRB annual report.
• Communicate with study team, participate the monthly PI, national coordinator’s calls, assist in the
development of quality assurance procedures for on-going data collection and analysis.
• Perform final statistical analysis of project data; write statistical analysis summaries, findings and
tables for primary and secondary paper.
• Provide statistical consultation for other research projects.
• Member of national workgroup responsible for developing standardized monthly data reports for the
Cooperative Studies Program.

• Utilize the proper statistical methodologies on studies. Modeling methods include Linear and
Nonlinear regression, ANOVA, Generalized Linear Model; Loglinear, Logistic Regression; Non-

and Mixed Regression Model.
• Perform statistical consulting, submit the statistical plan, conduct data analysis and present key

From 2007, I was promoted to study biostatistician, responsible for planning and implementation of experimental design, statistical analysis, sample size calculation, randomization, data collection and management, safety and efficacy reporting, and participating in all other aspects of study design as member of a cross-disciplinary national study team. Trial experience includes Lung Cancer, Vocal Nodules, Sudden Hearing Lost, PTSD, screening & surveillance colonoscopy, ALS and rheumatology. Since I’ve been employed full-time, I have been perusing a PhD of Biostatistics from University of Illinois at Chicago. During the period, I have taken essential and profound study in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, computer and other related courses, passed the qualification exams and achieved good standing records. I’m currently in the dissertation phase and plan to graduate in the fall of 2016.
