Jessica Washburn is a student at Florida International University expected to graduate in 2017 with a GPA of 3.6. She has been involved in numerous extracurricular activities including the Heroes Club, Student Programming Council, National Residence Hall Honorary, Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honors Society, FIU Recreation Leadership Team, and Fostering Panther Pride. She has work experience at Camp Kostopulos, FIU Recreation Center, TAG U.S.A. Gymnastics, and Park Avenue Gymnastics. The Heroesclub was created by FIU students that were/are in the foster care system or were/are homeless.
The main goal of the club is to help people in need,which could be anyone. We know what it feels like to
be in a vulnerable position and we want to help others out of the goodness of our hearts. The club is open
to anyone that wants to be a part of it.
Student Programing Council 2014-Present
The Student Programming Council is an organization that programs eventsfor the FIU students and its
community. Events range from comedy shows to movies, concerts, pool parties, and lectures.Members of
SPC have the opportunity to gain leadership experience,network,and learn how to program a variety of
events.In addition, the council works with other organizations on campus to provide more diverse
programming to students.
