Selendroid is a test automation framework which drives of the UI of Android native and hybrid applications (apps). Tests are written using the Selenium 2 client API.
Selendroid can be used on emulators and real devices and can be integrated as a node into the Selenium Grid for scaling and parallel testing.
Features of selendroid
- The app under test must not be modified in order to automate it
- Between the native and the web context can be switched back and forth, which basically means the concept of automating native or hybrid apps are the same.
- Different locator types are supported to find elements
- Gestures are supported: Advanced User Interactions API
- Selendroid can interact with multiple Android devices (emulators or hardware devices) at the same time
- Existing Emulators are started automatically
- Selendroid supports hot plugging of hardware devices
- It can be integrated as a node into the Selenium Grid for scaling and parallel testing
- Multiple Android target API support (10 to 19)
- Build in Inspector to simplify test case development.

In automobile engineering terminology a multi-valve engine is one where each cylinder has more than two valves. A multivalve engine has better breathing and can operate at higher revolutions per minute (rpm) than a two valve engine, delivering more power. Nowadays Eicher Motor is generating only two valve engines. But the need of the hour is to develop more efficient, four valve engines, which provide better fuel efficiency. Eicher Motor has started working on four valve engines because two valve engines apart from delivering inferior fuel efficiency compared to four valve engines also fall short on the front of emission norms compliance. To keep the transition two valve to four valve economical, it was proposed that instead of having an entirely new set up for assembling the four valve engines, two valve engine assembly line be use after required modification. For this change were made to engine assembly common line (Block), and cylinder head assembly line conveyors, location of cylinder head assembly line, manpower, machine and tools etc. of Eicher Motor as per the requirement of four valve and two valve assembly line and also engine assembly process was changed.

In present century, spark ignition engines have become a non-separable part of the society, and are used in many sectors of energy. They act as backbone for transportation systems, but, as a bitter truth they behave like a major source of air pollution. There are basically three types of emissions, emerged from a SI engine; exhaust emissions, evaporative emission, and crankcase emission, and the major pollutants emerged from these engines are CO, CO2, SOX, NOX.
Present project work aims at reducing emissions. It is a well-established fact that smooth combustion minimizes the emissions, and exhaust process contributes a lot in accomplishing smooth combustion process. In present project work, different designs of exhaust manifold for a multi cylinder spark ignition engine are optimized for reducing emissions, by evaluating back pressures and exhaust velocities. For this purpose four different designs, namely, short bend centre exit, short bend side exit, long bend centre exit with reducer, and long bend side exit with reducer are considered, and their performance is evaluated for different loading conditions.
