Dec 2017 Thesis: Numerical study of a modified double-spiked re-entry
vehicle.
• Optimised the geometry of aerospikes that are used on atmo-
spheric reentry vehicles to augment drag and thermal parame-
ters.
• Replaced the sharp edges at aerospike ends with conical sur-
faces and found the optimum cone angle to be near 70°

• Co-founded the first Aeromodelling(SAE Aerodesign) team at
VIT Chennai and actively conducted workshops and seminars
to attract crowds.
• Conducted Aerodynamic simulation on our first RC Aircraft to
participate at SAE Aerodesign and TATA UAV Challenge 2017.
• Trained a team of 5 juniors to conduct CFD External flow sim-
ulations for subsonic conditions and introduced them to basic
aeromodelling theory.

• Designed the brake system from hand calculations through FEM
verification, with which we won 12th Overall and 3rd rank in
Acceleration at BAJA Student India-2016,Greater Noida.
• Modelled numerous components,Spent more than a 100 hours
working at our garrage,designed brochures and posters,met
with many potential sponsors and vendors to obtain sponsor-
ships and discounts.
• Participated at BAJA SAE 2016 Rochester,USA where we stood
73rd among 150+ international teams and won 9th position in
the sales presentation event.
