 Modelling and experiments on the dynamic behaviour of materials. (June’12 – June’13)
 Performed impact experiments on various materials (SS 304LN, CG Nickel) over wide range of high strain
rates using compression Kolsky bar setup.
 Studied macroscopic mechanical properties and microscopic characterisation of the materials with the
help of characterisation technique XRD.
 Designed and analysed new experimental tension Kolsky bar setup.
M.Tech course projects
 Finite element formulation of transient heat conduction in composite slab with variable thermal
conductivity.
 Computed the temperature distribution on the metal slab with the help of FEA and compared the results
with ANSYS.
 FE code was written by considering composite slab accounting 2-D Non-linearity and solved using
Newton-Raphson technique.
 Finite element analysis of a gear tooth using MATLAB and ANSYS.
 Evaluated the stresses generated and the deformation occurred at the root of the gear tooth subjected to
a point load at its pitch point.
