Responsibilities included memorizing schemes and zip codes for every state in the USA and Foreign

I organized and expressed thoughts and information in a clear and concise manner while tailoring the
message to the audience; engaging in active listening; being aware of the impact of nonverbal cues on
the message being delivered while taking into account, the feelings and motivation of others when
delivering the message.
Planning and Scheduling of Work
I have been a Supervisor and Manager for the United States Postal Service in some capacity for over 29
years. I have extensive experience in scheduling and staffing to accommodate the needs of any task or
assignment in an efficient and effective manner to reach the desired goals of a companies policies and
procedures. I have been very successful in making positive changes to adhere to budgets and cost
effective resources. I have managed supervisors and subordinates to manage operations and programs
and achieve results that are essential in today's environment. I have a positive attitude and strive to
provide the best service to any company or community I am involved with.

Safety and Health
I have been provided the necessary training on many aspects of safety related activities and eliminate
potential accidents before they become serious problems for the safety and health of anyone in the
organization. This eliminates unnecessary reports that can take away useful time away from everyday
duties and responsibilities. This should be a concern for all employees in any company to insure the
safety of themselves and others so they are not jeopardized with costly absences or medical issues.
Labor Relations/EEO
As an employee or Manager it is my responsibility to understand the laws and adhere to them. I have
continually strived with all departments in the organization to promote hiring of the best candidates
and have personally mentored several employees to help them become successful leaders for the
benefits of themselves and the organization. I have provided talks to groups of employees on the
importance of conducting themselves in a professional manner, and explained that harassment will not
be tolerated by anyone including myself. Undesirable comments can be perceived unfavorable by some
people and if it is brought to my attention, I will investigate any apparent situation that could possibly
be construed as a hostile work environment. Working as a team is a key to success in any organization,
and listening to ideas from every employee will always prove greater achievements.
Decision Making/Problem Analysis
I have served on numerous Service Improvement Teams and Review Committees for new employees
including Supervisors and Managers. Early in my career, I took the necessary training to become a
certified interviewer and job instructor, and was also involved in the activation committee for
implementing new facilities within the organization. I have been detailed to headquarters and became
the tray management coordinator for the Kansas City, MO Processing and Distribution Facility that
operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I have also been fortunate to be mentored by seasoned
employees to help educate me on the grievance and arbitration process which helped me solve
grievances at the lowest level, keep costs down, and achieve the knowledge of good business judgments
in this competitive and financially stressed economy.
Budget Operations
I have conducted inventory counts to be SOX compliance with hundreds of thousands of dollars of
stamps, retail products, and equipment to be reported every quarter and keep costs down to the best of
my ability without jeopardizing the success of the organization and its customers. I have prepared and
implemented cost analysis projects and continually think of different ways to save money and still
provide the best service for the customers.
