The survey results from over 50 GEF International Waters Conference participants identified several needs for resources to address issues and utilize integrated water resource management methods. The top issues were loss of ecosystems, overexploitation of fisheries, and habitat destruction. The most needed methods were public participation, awareness raising, knowledge sharing, development of indicators for IWRM, and increasing participation. Participants also expressed needs for regional learning exchanges, common water curricula, information on co-financing, and web-based networking of projects and deliverables.
