Provides auto, home, and life insurance.
Repeatedly promoted to challenging new assignments with successes troubleshooting operational issues to turn around
stagnant performance. Managed planning, budget, administration, personnel, compliance, policy issues, and claims.

Regional Claims Manager (4/06–present)
Ensure execution of performance goals. Accountable for expense budget, indemnity costs, personnel, projects, programs, and
customer service. Establish and authorize all claims payments in conformity with established limits of authority.
Currently mentoring 13 company employees at all levels and developing 3 emerging leaders. Oversee a 5-state territory (OK,
MO, KS, AR, and IA). Responsible for 370 full time employees, $192M annual indemnity costs, and $38M budget. Manage
5 direct reports (state-level and administration managers). Report directly to the Vice President.
    •   Consistently met or exceeded all performance goals for auto and liability—file quality, estimate accuracy, total loss
        accuracy, customer service, in-person contact, early contact settlements, and employee development.
    •   Spearheaded national drive-in program that saved up to $536K in loss adjustment expenses within 3 months of
        implementation; rolled out in 76 metropolitan cities throughout Farmers operating territory.
    •   Improved efficiency of auto claims handling by 26% over 2 years.
    •   Improved service rating from 90.2% to 93.49% in 2009.
    •   Played integral role in national implementation of computerized claims guide that effectuated proper documentation
        and ensured regulatory compliance; greatly improved efficiency and quality.

State Claims Manager, Kansas & Iowa (2/02–3/06)
Transformed underperforming territory into top producer. Dramatically improved rankings for auto physical damage (APD)
file quality, liability, and services to finish #2 (KS) and #3 (IA) nationally for APD key performance indicators in 2004.
Implemented leadership practices and managerial improvements, creating a high-level of employee morale and increasing
performance numbers across the board. Developed internal controls and hired key managers to boost productivity.
Responsible for 70 full time employees, $86M annual indemnity cost, and $12M budget. Managed 12 direct reports
(supervisors and managers). Reported directly to the Midwest Zone Director.
    •   Led implementation of Farmers Coverage Initiative that advanced claims coverage and efficiency across all lines of
        business with a reduction in cost of $26.5M to $30.3M; managed 12-person project team.
    •   Improved service rating 4 percentage points to 88% and reduced cycle time by 8 days through development and
        implementation of new auto triage unit.
    •   Reduced average cost by 19% in 2002 by establishing cost control tools for supervisors and managers.
    •   Designed and executed Total Loss Project that decreased indemnity costs $600K, instituting national best practices.
    •   Developed 9 Claims Leadership Development candidates and promoted 5 candidates to supervisory level.
    •   Developed Auto Property Damage Manager for Missouri and elevated both Functional Managers for KS and IA.
    •   Zero turnover of highest performing professionals for 3 consecutive years.
    •   Kansas ranked #1 in zone for all performance objectives in 2004 and #1 for service in 2004 & 2005.
    •   Iowa ranked #2 in zone for quality and liability results and #3 for service in 2004.

Branch Claims Manager, Wisconsin (6/96–1/02)
Directed all phases of Field Claims Office to include budget control, operational planning, regulatory compliance, and
expense accounts. Handled subrogation for medical and property claims. Licensed to sell insurance in WI. Responsible for 75
full time employees, $61M in annual indemnity cost, and $8.5M budget. Managed 5 direct reports (supervisors). Reported
directly to the Regional Claims Manager.
    •   Led region in auto physical damage and liability quality assurance results in 2001 and 2002.
    •   Ranked #1 in zone for auto and liability quality assurance results in 2002.
    •   Achieved 2 Branch Claims Office awards for outstanding performance measured against the results of my peers.
    •   Received Management Award for Excellence in 1997; nominated twice previously.
    •   Nominated for Succession Management Plan in 1998.
    •   Developed Claims Investigations Coordinator position that delivered $187K in loss avoidance in 1998.
    •   Scheduled and prioritized workflow to meet deadlines and achieve all quality, production, and percentage goals as
