The complex idea of the meaning of life came to be first through the Hindu teachings. The four
main purposes of life are Dharma meaning to act virtuously and righteously. Artha means the
prosperity and successfulness in one s life. Kama being the concept of whatever action a person
makes, they will receive the same back. Moksha is the proceeding of a spirit into another being

Titration is the process of adding measured volumes of a base or acid with a known concentration to

Volume measurements play an important role in titration. It involves measuring the exact volume of
a solution with a known concentration that will react with a measured volume of a solution that has
an unknown concentration. The solution that has a known concentration is called a standard
solution. Acid base titration is based on neutralization that occurs in the reaction. If a base is
added to an acid until the acid is neutralized, then the moles of base and the moles of acid will be
equal. In other words, the moles of H+ ions must equal the number of moles of OH ions. The
following equation can be used to calculate the unknown molarity of an acidic or basic solution:
(Molarity of the acid) * (Volume of the acid) = (Molarity of the Base) * (Volume of the Base) or

Hesse (1980) stated that the positivist paradigm is reductionist and deterministic. The researcher
using this paradigm strives for objectivity and uses measurement to test hypotheses (Young
2008). Maintaining tight control over the context of the problem allows the researcher to make
generalisations about the concepts being studied

Positivism uses scientific methods of enquiry to describe and predict patterns in the physical world
(Suppe and Jacox 1985). Theory is established deductively through formal statistical testing of
hypothesis (Lincoln and Guba 1985). The goal of

According to Reason and Bradbury (2008), positivists are traditionally committed to a view of

are believed to have their own minds and this determines behaviour (Reason and Bradbury 2008).
Positivists are objective or dualist and maintain that there should be separation between those who
