Executive Summary
 Dhaka city have a rich archeological wealth, especially of the several period both during the Muslim, pre-
Muslim rules and British period. But most of it is still unexplored and unknown especially to the young
generation.
 We have made a well-organized survey against some male & female of earlier age to find out the reason
behind it and what are the factors working why the young generation are not being attracted in a large number.
 Our motive was to find response from respondents and the reason behind the lack awareness of young
generation.
 Respondents answered their opinion freely and after the survey we made a brief analysis from the answered.
Here we only used Microsoft Excel Programmer to analysis as for short time. We’ve showed the outcomes in
Pie-chat and Bar-Chart and a brief interpretation what are the answering showing.
 At the end of the research we have discussed the reasons what we got from the analysis why the young
generation are not fully aware of the archeological sites in Dhaka city and the management problems in their
view.
Introduction
 Background Information:
 Bangladesh is a place of archeological sites. There are a lot of famous and well known archeological sites in
all over the country like: Maynamati, Paharpur and so on. Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh.
 Bangladesh is a place of history and the dhaka city is also a part of this history.
 Archeological sites of our country certainly represent our glorious past.
 Archeological sites in Dhaka city also the symbol of our ancient history and also help to increase our demand
as a proud nation.
 Problem Statement
 Our young generation does not know much about our archeological sites even they do not know the history.
 We have faced a lot of problem because of lack of knowledge among the young generation about our
archeological sites.
 We cannot promote our archeological sites and fail to increase expected tourist.
 Young generation becomes careless about these beautiful places and shows interest about other counties
archeological sites.
Introduction
 Objectives
Our major objective is to identify the reasons behind young generations not being interested in archaeological
sites of Dhaka city.
 To create awareness among the young generation
 To promote archaeological sites of Dhaka city to find out the management lacking.
 To increase promotional tools.
 To attract young generation by TVC and social media.
Methodology
Research Objectives
 To make a research design at first we need to identify the problem.
 It enables researchers to set proper research objectives.
 Researchers must have clear objectives and definite design.
 We used some exploratory research techniques for our identified problems.
 Secondary data or historical data
 We studied some archeology related articles and books and also studied some statistical data to find out the
factor behind lack of interest among the young generation about our archaeological sites.
Research Objectives
 Pilot Study
 A pilot study is normally small in comparison with the main experiment and therefore, can provide only
limited information.
 We also did some primary work to understand the reason behind lack of promotion activities from
government and other organization.
 Experience Survey
 We also consulted with scholar person who are very experienced about this sector. It also helps us to know
about the sites other influencing factors like transportation factor, Hospitality, environment factor and so on.
Research Design
 It is a master plan specifying the methods and procedures for collecting and analyzing the needed information.
Causal research Design
 Sources of information
I. Secondary data Problem Identification
II. Primary data Collecting more accurate Information
 Design Technique
 Designed a questionnaire and doing a survey.
 We were trying to collect the information about the young generation.
 Identified the factors of lack of interest among the young generation about archaeological sites.
Analysis of a
specific
problem

lack of
knowledge
Popular data
collection
method
Target Population
 Our target population was the young generation of Dhaka city.
 We considered 13 to 28+ age’s people and collected sample from them.
 Census survey
 Sample Survey
Collect data from each and every
units
Ensures greater accuracy
Collects information from all
participant
Effective method for gathering
accurate information
less time consuming
and less costly
limited human resources
Sample design and procedure
 Select a sampling Frame
 Sampling frame is the list of working population. In our study we had conducted a survey among 50 people. So our list of
working population was 50.
 Sampling Units
 Sampling unit means the unit of population to be investigated. Our sampling units were students, service holder, business
people and other professions whose age group were 13 to 28+.
 Determine the sampling method
 There are two types of sampling method. They are:
 Probability method
 Non- probability method
Sample design and procedure
 Probability method
 Probability samples are based on chance factor without any biasness. Every element has a known non-zero probability of being selected.
 Non probability method
 Non probability sampling is arbitrary or subjective. Researchers heavily rely on personal judgment or convenience.
 In our study we used probability method .
 We used simple random sampling method which is a technique in each and every element has the chance of being selected.
 It is also less expensive and less time consuming and our study on young generation and their characteristics are quite same, That’s why
we have selecting this method.
 Define sampling procedure
 We had selected our sample by doing survey.
 We went to different Universities and business organization to collect our sample.
Sample Size
 We conducted our survey among 50 people. So, our sample size was 50. Because of lack of time we conducted this
survey among the limited number of people.
 Allocate sample size between different units
 We distributed our sample between different age groups and different professions of people.
 Conduct the field work
 After completing the sample design, we conducted the field work. We have done our field work according to those
procedures.
Data collection instrument
 There are two types of data. They are secondary and primary data. For each type we require data collection instrument.
These are: questionnaire, checklist, guidelines and discussion points/issues.
 We used questionnaire to collect data. When we made questionnaire we followed some of the basic elements.
 Contents
 Study objectives will determine which type of information will be collected. Because our study is based on to identify the
reasons behind young generations not being interested in archaeological sites of Dhaka city. We tried to collect
information about these issues. We considered two things:
 Questionnaire must be relevant
 Questionnaire must have accurate and information based
 Phrasing questions
 We used close ended questions to make questionnaire.
 We made structure based question we wanted to select the factors which will be the responsible for lack of knowledge
about the archaeological sites in Dhaka city among the young generations.
Data collection instrument
 Art of asking questions
To make questionnaire effective we considered following issues:
 We used simple conversational language to avoid complexity
 Trying to avoid ambiguity
 Sequence
 Sequence is very important for effective questionnaire. We used funnel technique when we made questionnaire. At first
we asked general questions then we asked specific questions in order to obtain unbiased responds.
 Attitude Rating Scale
 We also tried to use some attitude rating scale method. It gave us clear idea about our research. We used following
attitude rating scales.
a. Simple attitude scale
 We used simple attitude scale which required an individual to agree or disagree with a statement or respond to a
question.
Data collection instrument
b. Numerical scale
 We also used numerical scale to identify the actual rating of our archaeological sites in Dhaka city and their facilities.
 Pretesting
 After making the questionnaire we did pretesting. Pretest is the field test of draft data collection.
 We’ve ‘pre tested’ our questionnaire among 5 samples.
 Pretesting helps to identify whether the respondents face any difficulties in understanding the instrument.
 By doing pretesting, we could synchronize our questions in a proper way.
Data collection instrument
 Limitations
 We didn’t have enough time to do our survey. We had collected only 50 samples for our survey because of lack of time.
 Sometimes respondents didn’t give us enough time to do the survey because of their busy work schedule.
 Information that we had collected was not sufficient enough
 Secondary information was not available
 Analyzing the data
 The process of analysis begins after the data have been collected. During the analysis stage several interrelated
procedures are performed to summarize and rearrange the data.
 The research steps related to processing and analysis are presented in 4 steps. They are:
Editing Coding Data Entry Data Analysis
RECOMMENDATION
 Increasing promotion. Advertise through TVC and web pages.
 Making awareness through social media
 Enhancing Infrastructural facility
 Providing facilities like GPRS road map, modern Tour Guide and Tour Operating Agencies.
 Providing modern transportation facility like ‘Tourist Bus’
 Privatization for the betterment of the facility & keeping originality.
CONCLUSION
 Young generation should be attracted toward archaeological sites to keep the existence of history.
 Finding out the problems and solving them was our main purpose.
 We tried to focus on the updated promotional tools which will attract the young generation
 Our research will help the management to get a brief but sufficient idea about the improvement.
THANK YOU

Researchers heavily rely on personal judgment or convenience.  In our study we used probability method .  We used simple random sampling method which is a technique in each and every element has the chance of being selected.  It is also less expensive and less time consuming and our study on young generation and their characteristics are quite same, That’s why we have selecting this method.  Define sampling procedure  We had selected our sample by doing survey.  We went to different Universities and business organization to collect our sample.
  • 12. Sample Size  We conducted our survey among 50 people. So, our sample size was 50. Because of lack of time we conducted this survey among the limited number of people.  Allocate sample size between different units  We distributed our sample between different age groups and different professions of people.  Conduct the field work  After completing the sample design, we conducted the field work. We have done our field work according to those procedures.
  • 13. Data collection instrument  There are two types of data. They are secondary and primary data. For each type we require data collection instrument. These are: questionnaire, checklist, guidelines and discussion points/issues.  We used questionnaire to collect data. When we made questionnaire we followed some of the basic elements.  Contents  Study objectives will determine which type of information will be collected. Because our study is based on to identify the reasons behind young generations not being interested in archaeological sites of Dhaka city. We tried to collect information about these issues. We considered two things:  Questionnaire must be relevant  Questionnaire must have accurate and information based  Phrasing questions  We used close ended questions to make questionnaire.  We made structure based question we wanted to select the factors which will be the responsible for lack of knowledge about the archaeological sites in Dhaka city among the young generations.
  • 14. Data collection instrument  Art of asking questions To make questionnaire effective we considered following issues:  We used simple conversational language to avoid complexity  Trying to avoid ambiguity  Sequence  Sequence is very important for effective questionnaire. We used funnel technique when we made questionnaire. At first we asked general questions then we asked specific questions in order to obtain unbiased responds.  Attitude Rating Scale  We also tried to use some attitude rating scale method. It gave us clear idea about our research. We used following attitude rating scales. a. Simple attitude scale  We used simple attitude scale which required an individual to agree or disagree with a statement or respond to a question.
  • 15. Data collection instrument b. Numerical scale  We also used numerical scale to identify the actual rating of our archaeological sites in Dhaka city and their facilities.  Pretesting  After making the questionnaire we did pretesting. Pretest is the field test of draft data collection.  We’ve ‘pre tested’ our questionnaire among 5 samples.  Pretesting helps to identify whether the respondents face any difficulties in understanding the instrument.  By doing pretesting, we could synchronize our questions in a proper way.
  • 16. Data collection instrument  Limitations  We didn’t have enough time to do our survey. We had collected only 50 samples for our survey because of lack of time.  Sometimes respondents didn’t give us enough time to do the survey because of their busy work schedule.  Information that we had collected was not sufficient enough  Secondary information was not available  Analyzing the data  The process of analysis begins after the data have been collected. During the analysis stage several interrelated procedures are performed to summarize and rearrange the data.  The research steps related to processing and analysis are presented in 4 steps. They are: Editing Coding Data Entry Data Analysis
  • 17. RECOMMENDATION  Increasing promotion. Advertise through TVC and web pages.  Making awareness through social media  Enhancing Infrastructural facility  Providing facilities like GPRS road map, modern Tour Guide and Tour Operating Agencies.  Providing modern transportation facility like ‘Tourist Bus’  Privatization for the betterment of the facility & keeping originality.
  • 18. CONCLUSION  Young generation should be attracted toward archaeological sites to keep the existence of history.  Finding out the problems and solving them was our main purpose.  We tried to focus on the updated promotional tools which will attract the young generation  Our research will help the management to get a brief but sufficient idea about the improvement.
