This document outlines requirements and design goals for a motion assistive orthosis. It lists economic, functional, appearance, manufacturability, and other requirements. Design goals include an acquisition cost under $40,000 pesos, weight under 12kg, adaptable to user characteristics, and a range of knee flexion of at least 80 degrees. It also generates concept ideas for major orthosis components, including frames, adjustment/restraint systems, movement generation, control systems, energy storage, sensing, user interface, and knee joint systems. Concepts will be evaluated based on feasibility, technology availability, customer requirements, and a decision matrix.
