This document summarizes the process of creating a special report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C. It describes the multi-year process including scoping meetings, author team selection, drafting and review stages. The report contains 5 chapters and had over 80 authors from 40 countries who cited over 5000 references. It underwent extensive expert and government review with nearly 13,000 comments before being approved in October 2018.
