This document discusses how lighting, camera angles, and characterization were used to portray stereotypes in a film. The Suit character was shot with low-key and chiaroscuro lighting to make him seem ominous and mysterious as the main villain. Irish Tommy was shot in daylight settings to seem less intimidating. Camera angles were also used differently for the characters, with low angles used for Irish Tommy initially and then a close-up when he is revealed to be foolish. The characters were designed to fit crime genre stereotypes, with Irish Tommy portrayed as lower class and less intelligent and The Suit as higher class and intimidating.
