We have a glorious heritage, we do not need to
leave “the path marked out for the ransomed of
the Lord”

Isaiah 30:1-3 “Woe to the rebellious children, saith the
LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover
with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add
sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not
asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the
strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame,
and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.”
Many times when Israel had problems they would
go to Egypt (symbol of the world). Has modern Israel
done the same, because of some trouble…
Let us seek counsel from the Lord.

Separated to Shine
God has called His church in this day, as He called ancient Israel, to
stand as a light in the earth. By the mighty cleaver of truth—the
messages of the first, second, and third angels—He has separated them
from the churches and from the world to bring them into a sacred
nearness to Himself. He has made them the depositaries of His law and
has committed to them the great truths of prophecy for this time. Like
the holy oracles committed to ancient Israel, these are a sacred trust to
be communicated to the world. {CCh 58.4}
The three angels of Revelation 14 represent the people who
accept the light of God's messages and go forth as His agents to
sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the
earth. The love that Jesus manifested for the souls of men in the
sacrifice which He made for their redemption, will actuate all His
followers. {CCh 58.5}

Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my
covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people:
for all the earth is mine:
Psalm 135:4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for
his peculiar treasure.
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth
the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into
His marvellous light:
Peculiar Treasure
Seventh-day Adventists have a special privilege and
responsibility throw without incurring divine
displeasure.

Partaker of evil deeds
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments.
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have
wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever
transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not
God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the
Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this
doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God
speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil
deeds. (2 John 6-11)
Question: “If we invite religious leaders to address entire body,
are we receiving them into the house?
What does it mean not to receive in one’s house? Whose house?
What does it mean to bid “God speed?”

Partaker of her sins
(Rev. 18:4) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come
out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and
that ye receive not of her plagues.
The SDA church is not Babylon but some bold SDA members and
leaders are collaborating with Babylon.
The message must first come to us “go not in onto her (Babylon)
these fallen churches” Else you as an individual will partake of
her sins and eventually receive of her plagues.
God has a distinct people, a church on earth, second to none,
but superior to all in their facilities to teach the truth, to
vindicate the law of God. . . . My brother, if you are teaching that
the Seventh-day Adventist Church is Babylon, you are wrong.--
TM 50, 58, 59 (1893).

Why friendship with Babylon is wrong
I saw that since the second angel proclaimed the fall of the
churches, they have been growing more and more corrupt. They
bear the name of being Christ's followers; yet it is impossible to
distinguish them from the world. Ministers take their texts from
the Word of God, but preach smooth things. To this the natural
heart feels no objection.” {EW 273.1}
To this the natural heart feels no objection. It is only the spirit and
power of the truth and the salvation of Christ that are hateful to the
carnal heart. There is nothing in the popular ministry that stirs the
wrath of Satan, makes the sinner tremble, or applies to the heart
and conscience the fearful realities of a judgment soon to come.
Wicked men are generally pleased with a form of piety without true
godliness, and they will aid and support such a religion. {EW 273.1}

Why friendship with Babylon is wrong
Said the angel, "Nothing less than the whole armor of
righteousness can enable man to overcome the powers of
darkness and retain the victory over them. Satan has taken full
possession of the churches as a body. The sayings and doings of
men are dwelt upon instead of the plain, cutting truths of the
Word of God. The spirit and friendship of the world are at
enmity with God. When the truth in its simplicity and strength,
as it is in Jesus, is brought to bear against the spirit of the world,
it at once awakens the spirit of persecution. Very many who
profess to be Christians have not known God. The natural heart
has not been changed, and the carnal mind remains at enmity
with God. They are Satan's faithful servants, notwithstanding
they have assumed another name." {EW 273.2}

The work to be done for the other Churches
“Servants of God, endowed with power from on high with their
faces lighted up, and shining with holy consecration, went forth
to proclaim the message from heaven. Souls that were scattered
all through the religious bodies answered to the call, and the
precious were hurried out of the doomed churches, as Lot was
hurried out of Sodom before her destruction. God's people were
strengthened by the excellent glory which rested upon them in
rich abundance and prepared them to endure the hour of
temptation. I heard everywhere a multitude of voices saying,
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." {EW 278.2}

Partaker of her sins
“For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and
her mouth is smoother than oil:…Hear me now therefore, O ye
children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove
thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the
cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours
be in the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when
thy flesh and thy body are consumed, And say, How have I
hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not
obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them
that instructed me! I was almost in all evil in the midst of the
congregation and assembly.”
(Proverbs 5:3, 7-14)

Promised liberty
“Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following
the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of
unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass
speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a
tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For
when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure
through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those
that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they
promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of
corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he
brought in bondage.” (2 Peter 2:15-19)

Who does the promising?
Even ministers who claim to believe the truth are
only blind guides if the truth is not enthroned in
the heart, and a thorough transition from
darkness to light has [not] taken place. They are
clouds without water. {TSB 153.2}
Even ministers who proclaim the truth are only blind
leaders of the blind,--clouds without water, carried
about with every wind. {RH, December 18, 1888 par. 5}

What did the “clouds” turn from?
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome,
the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the
way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to
turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true
proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and
the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2
Peter 2:20-22)

Who are the “clean escaped?”
“Seventh-day Adventists have been chosen by
God as a peculiar people, separate from the
world. By the great cleaver of truth He has cut
them out from the quarry of the world, and
brought them into connection with Himself. He
has made them His representatives, and has
called them to be ambassadors for Him in the last
work of salvation.” (Testimonies, vol. 7, p. 138.)
God’s people are a separate people, connected with
God. What a privilege!

Who will remain?”
These false teachers, arising in the church and accounted
true by many of their brethren in the faith, the apostle
compared to "wells without water, clouds that are
carried with a tempest….
Not all, however, would be ensnared by the enemy's
devices. As the end of all things earthly should approach,
there would be faithful ones able to discern the signs of
the times. While a large number of professing believers
would deny their faith by their works, there would be a
remnant who would endure to the end. . . . The Acts of
the Apostles, pp. 534-536. {RC 221.5}

Sealed – 144,000
“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal
of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four
angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we
have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” Rev 7:2, 3
Revelation 14:4 “These are they which were not defiled with
women; for they are virgins.”
Let us strive with all the power that God has given us
to be among the hundred and forty-four thousand.
“Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate
woman. [ A ‘woman’ in prophecy is a symbol of a church] Here women,
hence the symbol of churches.

Strive to be among the 144,000
Those whom the Lamb shall lead by the fountains of living waters, and from
whose eyes He shall wipe away all tears, will be those now receiving the
knowledge and understanding revealed in the Bible, the Word of God. . . .
We are to copy no human being. There is no human being wise enough
to be our criterion. We are to look to the man Christ Jesus, who is complete
in the perfection of righteousness and holiness. He is the author and
finisher of our faith. He is the pattern man. His experience is the measure
of the experience that we are to gain. His character is our model. Let us,
then, take our minds off the perplexities and the difficulties of this life,
and fix them on Him, that by beholding we may be changed into His
likeness. We may behold Christ to good purpose. We may safely look to
Him; for He is all-wise. As we look to Him and think of Him, He will be
formed within, the hope of glory. {7BC 970.9}
Let us strive with all the power that God has given us to be among the
hundred and forty-four thousand (RH March 9, 1905). {7BC 970.10}

Necessity of purification
Just as long as God has a church, he will have those who will cry
aloud and spare not, who will be his instruments to reprove
selfishness and sins, and will not shun to declare the whole
counsel of God, whether men will hear or forbear. I saw that
individuals would rise up against the plain testimonies. It does
not suit their natural feelings. They would choose to have smooth
things spoken unto them, and have peace cried in their ears. I
view the church in a more dangerous condition than they ever
have been. Experimental religion is known but by a few. The
shaking must soon take place to purify the church. {Spiritual
Gifts vol. 2, 284.1}
…This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place.--
2SM 380 (1886). {LDE 180.5}

Receiving Favors
Just as long as we are in this world, and the Spirit of
God is striving with the world, we are to receive as well
as to impart favors. We are to give to the world the light
of truth as presented in the Sacred Scriptures, and we
are to receive from the world that which God moves
upon them to do in behalf of His cause. The Lord still
moves upon the hearts of kings and rulers in behalf of
His people, and it becomes those who are so deeply
interested in the religious liberty question not to cut off
any favors, or withdraw themselves from the help that
God has moved men to give, for the advancement of His
cause. {TM 202.2}

But never by compromise
Writing to a helper in the gospel work, a woman of good
repute and wide influence, he [John] said: "Many
deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not
that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver
and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not
those things which we have wrought, but that we receive
a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not
in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in
the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the
Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this
doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him
Godspeed: for he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker
of his evil deeds." {AA 554.2}

But never by compromise
We are authorized to hold in the same estimation as did the
beloved disciple those who claim to abide in Christ while living in
transgression of God's law. There exist in these last days evils
similar to those that threatened the prosperity of the early
church; and the teachings of the apostle John on these points
should be carefully heeded. "You must have charity," is the cry
heard everywhere, especially from those who profess
sanctification. But true charity is too pure to cover an
unconfessed sin. While we are to love the souls for whom Christ
died, we are to make no compromise with evil. We are not to
unite with the rebellious and call this charity. God
requires His people in this age of the world to stand for the right
as unflinchingly as did John in opposition to soul-destroying
errors. {AA 554.3}

An event called the shaking should
bring the mind of an awaked SDA
what the Bible and Spirit of prophecy
has to say about the true “shaking.”
We are in the shaking time, the time
when everything that can be
shaken will be shaken. The Lord will
not excuse those who know the
truth if they do not in word and
deed obey His commands.--6T 332

“The Lord has marked out our way
of working. As a people we are not
to imitate and fall in with Salvation
Army methods. This is not the work
that the Lord has given us to do.
Neither is it our work to condemn
them and speak harsh words

Said Christ, “My kingdom is not of this world.” It has no principles in common
with the world. Human patronage is not to be sought by it. {PCO 126.5}

Did we consider this?
“…again was demonstrated the evil results, so often
witnessed in the history of the church from the days of
Constantine to the present, of attempting to build up
the church by the aid of the state, of appealing to the
secular power in support of the gospel of Him who
declared: "My kingdom is not of this world." John 18:36.
The union of the church with the state, be the degree
never so slight, while it may appear to bring the world
nearer to the church, does in reality but bring the
church nearer to the world.” {GC 297.1}

“Know ye not that your bodies are the members of
Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and
make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot
is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.” (1Cor
6: 15, 16)
(2 Co 6:14,15) Be ye not unequally yoked together with
unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what
part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

2Co 6:16-18 And what agreement hath the temple of God with
idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I
will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and
they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them,
and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean

Do not hide your colours
God has thrust His people into the gap, to make up the hedge, to raise
up the foundation of many generations. The heavenly intelligences,
angels that excel in strength, are waiting, obedient to His command, to
unite with human agencies; and the Lord will interpose when matters
have come to such a pass that none but a divine power can counteract
the satanic agencies at work. When His people shall be in the greatest
danger, seemingly unable to stand against the power of Satan, God will
work in their behalf. Man's extremity is God's opportunity. {2SM 373.1}
Now is the time when the loyal and true are to arise and shine;
for the glory of the Lord is risen upon them. It is no time now to
hide our colors, no time to turn traitors when the battle presses
sore, no time to lay aside our weapons of warfare. Watchmen on
the walls of Zion must be wide awake. {2SM 373.2}

Less prominent differences, no!
Men will employ every means to make less prominent the difference
between Seventh-day Adventists and observers of the first day of the
week. A company was presented before me under the name of Seventh-
day Adventists, who were advising that the banner, or sign, which makes
us a distinct people should not be held out so strikingly; for they
claimed that this was not the best policy in order to secure success to
our institutions. But this is not a time to haul down our colors, to be
ashamed of our faith. This distinctive banner, described in the words,
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus," is to be borne through
the world to the close of probation. While efforts should be increased to
advance in different localities, there must be no cloaking of our faith to
secure patronage. Truth must come to souls ready to perish; and if it is
in any way hidden, God is dishonored, and the blood of souls will be
upon our garments. {6T 144.1}

God will honor the faithful.
Just as long as those in connection with our institutions walk humbly
with God, heavenly intelligences will co-operate with them; but let all
bear in mind the fact that God has said: "Them that honor Me I will
honor." 1 Samuel 2:30. Never for one moment should the impression
be given to anyone that it would be for his profit to hide his faith and
doctrines from the unbelieving people of the world, fearing that he may
not be so highly esteemed if his principles are known. Christ requires
from all His followers open, manly confession of faith. Each must take
his position and be what God designed he should be, a spectacle to the
world, to angels, and to men. The whole universe is looking with
inexpressible interest to see the closing work of the great controversy
between Christ and Satan. Every Christian is to be a light, not hid under
a bushel or under a bed, but put on a candlestick, that light may be
given to all who are in the house. Never, from cowardice or worldly
policy, let the truth of God be placed in the background. {6T 144.2}

Warning from Isaiah
Isa 8:9-12 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be
broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird
yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and
ye shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall
come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is
with us. For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and
instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people,
saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people
shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
“Associate,” are we going to form an association – SDAs and other
religious leaders combined to secure national “freedom” favours?
Should we question whether it will fail, we are assured it will (v.9).
The Bible will never err, is it in context, (now is the sealing time, v.16)

Warning from Isaiah
Isa 8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your
fear, and let him be your dread.
Isa 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of
stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel,
for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Isa 8:15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be
broken, and be snared, and be taken.
Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Keep the Sabbath aright.( v.16) For all union with the unsaved are
a snare.

We can overcome, with God’s
graceThough in many respects our institutions of learning have swung
into worldly conformity, though step by step they have advanced
toward the world, they are prisoners of hope. Fate has not so
woven its meshes about their workings that they need to remain
helpless and in uncertainty. If they will listen to His voice and
follow in His ways, God will correct and enlighten them, and bring
them back to their upright position of distinction from the
world….
Opposing circumstances should create a firm determination
to overcome them. One barrier broken down will give greater
ability and courage to go forward. Press in the right direction, and
make a change, solidly, intelligently. Then circumstances will be
your helpers and not your hindrances. Make a beginning. The oak
is in the acorn. {6T 145.2}

Way above human power
Christ said, “My kingdom is not of this
world.” It was not established by human
power, and human power cannot overthrow
it. {HFM 55.2}
Christ declared, "My kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36).
While it imprints its influence upon earthly governments, it
cannot take the slightest imprint from them without marring the
divine similitude. {1MCP 14.3}

Simplicity of the gospel
Those who are true to the divine Leader will hold fast to
the simplicity of the gospel, and will put away the
masterly sentiments and sophistries that are coming in
to deceive. Those who would be saved from the wily,
deceptive influences of the foe must now break every
yoke, and take their position for Christ and for truth.
They must reject all fictitious sentiments, which, if
accepted, will spoil their faith and their experience.
Unless they obtain this freedom, they will go on step by
step in the downward path, until they deny Him who has
bought them with the price of His blood. {SpTB02 45.3}

Watchmen
Ezekiel 3:17-18 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto
the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and
give them warning from me.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest
him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked
way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Ezekiel18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby
ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit:
for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Let us return to the Lord
Revelation 3:19 “As many as I love, I rebuke
and chasten: be zealous therefore, and
repent.”
Hosea 14:1 O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast
fallen by thine iniquity.
Jer 17:5,7 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth
in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth
from the LORD.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the
LORD is.

Return
Songs 6:13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we
may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were
the company of two armies.
RETURN “Church militant” that you may become “church
triumphant”
When difficulties arise in any branch of the cause—as they surely
will, for the church militant is not the church triumphant—all
heaven is watching to see what will be the course of those who
are entrusted with sacred responsibilities. Some will stumble;
some will give heed to seducing spirits; some will choose darkness

NOThe government under which Jesus lived was corrupt and
oppressive; on every hand were crying abuses—extortion,
intolerance, and grinding cruelty. Yet the Saviour attempted no
civil reforms. He attacked no national abuses, nor condemned the
national enemies. He did not interfere with the authority or
administration of those in power. He who was our example kept
aloof from earthly governments. Not because He was indifferent
to the woes of men, but because the remedy did not lie in merely
