Reflection- Argument of Inquiry Paper
Overall, this assignment taught me a lot about myself and my writing style. I
learned that I write best by forming a bulleted list of points I want to cover, and then
transforming that into a first rough draft. Additionally, I found that the library
website is extremely helpful as well as the librarians at Mckeldin. Even though
cyberbullying is a very popular topic of writing, finding appropriate academic
sources was extremely difficult. This essay is very different than most writing I have
done in the past because it requires you to reveal the importance of the issue
without being subjective to a certain side. I found it difficult to refrain from showing
my personal opinion on the subject, and I also struggled with finding a variety of
perspectives on the issue since cyberbullying is generally frowned upon. I thought I
used good sentence structure variety, solid transitions and my introductory
paragraph was strong. I enjoy the draft workshop but I think it could be more
beneficial if there were less specific questions on the worksheet, and instead more
general ones, because that gives the editor a little leeway in their comments if they
do not exactly reflect an answer to one of the given questions. Based on the
comments from my academic summary, I worked especially hard on using a strictly
academic voice and providing a clear thesis statement. I would like for you to focus
on my exigence and if I kept your attention throughout the whole piece. For the next
writing assignment, I hope to get more sets of eyes editing my rough drafts before I

decide what changes to implement and how to write my final draft. I also want to
work on taking a side without being ignorant to the alternative perspectives on the
issue.
