1. Self-evaluation
1. What did you personally do to help prepare for the IHonor project?
Because IHonor project is a valuable event that Vietnamese people, especially young
people show the respect and commemorate heroic martyrs, veterans in advance of Vietnam
Veterans Day on 27 July, so I prepared all jobs that I had thought they are necessary. At the
starting of the project, I tried to find the Vietnam Veterans Monuments around Hanoi area such as
Hoan Kiem district, Ha Dong district or Ba Dinh district. Therefore, I could give my opinions
about the nearest place we would hold IHonor project. Since I understood the meaning of our
project is to remind people about the great sacrifice for motherland, I asked my friends, my
family if they would like to come and enjoy with us. In the role of a member of logistics team, I
gathered materials, tools like brooms, towels or garbage bags to the Veteran Memorial in Ha
Dong district and also manage and brought them back to school. Last but not least, I respected
our project by meeting my classmates on time at 7 am in schools and going as a team to the
Veteran Monuments.
2. What did you personally do during the IHonor project?
Firstly, I came to the event on time with all the materials and tools that I was responsible
for. Because I knew how the event was meaningful, I acted respectfully and politely during the
Veterans Ceremony. I was really enjoying in all the activities during the event, the song my
classmate sang, asking veterans about war stories, even I joined in singing "Nam anh em tren
mot chiec xe tang" with all members. After receiving the area my team needed to clean up, I
provided the materials, tools, mask and medical gloves for team members and volunteers. I
participated in cleaning up Ha Dong' s Veteran monument by collecting all the garbage and
cutting the grass near the gravestones. I also cleaned up almost the gravestones by towels, while
my team members were cleaning the land and grass. Then I went with all members in the event
to burn incenses for each gravestones that made me feel grateful to my previous generations
about their sacrifices.
2. 2. Reflection on the IHonor project
1. What worked well about this project?
From my view, my class-VISK 2012B-held a meaningful event for reminding people about
the worth sacrifice of all veterans who gave up one part of their bodies or their lives for the peace
of Vietnam. Moreover, our project created good impacts on people, especially young people and
people who live around the Veteran monument, because they said thank you for our activities.
Last but not least, by IHonor project we had chance to show our respect to all the veterans,
especially we gave a hand to remind our community to never forget their sacrifices in the past for
the freedom of Vietnam, while we are living in peace world.
2. What did not work well?
I think there is a small thing that did not work well in our project. This is the micro that the
quality of sound was not good enough for audiences to listen all things the speakers said.
Sometimes, the speech was interrupted and the audience found difficult to follow it. My opinion
is we need to check carefully about the sound's quality of the micro.
3. Were there any surprises on the day of the project?
In my opinion, the most surprise on the day of the project was a good weather, although
almost day in that week were extremely hot. Therefore, all members in IHonor project had done
their jobs quickly at highest level.
4. How did IHands Company perform on the IHonor project?
I think IHands Company performed very well on the IHonor project. We divided the jobs
clearly for each department, fore example: logistics managed and was responsible for providing
materials, tools, marketing department was responsible and designed, the banners, posters,
Human resource was in charge of inviting guests and delegates. We also had IHonor rehearsal to
practice for the real event. Especially, we received the support from 20 volunteers to help
organize a successful event.
5. How do you think you are improving in your work?
After IHonor project, I think I am improving a lot on taking responsibilities in any activities
I participate. In the position as a member of logistics team, I learned how to keep, manage and
3. provide the materials and tools for other team members. Furthermore, when I took a task to clean
up the Veterans Monument and all the gravestones, I would certainly do it. Finally, I am
improving the skills to support other members during the project, for example after finishing my
work, I went and help other teams to burn the incenses to gravestones.
6. How did you feel when we finished the IHonor project?
IHonor project brought me the feeling of respect for all veterans who were brave to fight
for the peace of next generations. Then I feel very grateful for all veterans' sacrifices for the
freedom of Vietnam, they are actually heroes for each Vietnamese people. This project also
remind me to never forget these sacrifices and I will say these to my friends, my family and my
next generations who are lucky to live in peace world. Finally, I felt that I did a meaningful work
and I am proud of myself, because IHonor project as a chance for me to show my respect to the
sacrifices of my previous generations, and a message I want to send to people especially young
people to always remember these and enhance their awareness about keeping a peace world for
everybody.
