Dear Sirs:
I am writing this letter in reference to Lee K. Harris and the specific skills he implemented in
helping repair and set up our school's network. In addition I am writing this letter in reference to
his skills of working with others. My position at East Liverpool Christian is technology
supervisor, and I directly oversee all computer setup and repair at our school.
In the past years (2001-2005) our school began to network our high school lab computers
with the help of two laymen who had some training in computers. Our goal was to network
12 lab computers through a Windows 2000 based server for Internet use by the students and
teachers. We were able to accomplish our base goal of allowing the students and teachers
Internet access, but the laymen were unable to accomplish the goal of a complete networking
system.
Having known Lee for several years, and knowing his specific field of expertise, I asked him to
come and review our system and make suggested changes to complete the networking system.
Lee did so, and was able to repair wrongfully set up files in a matter of a couple hours. He then
further assisted the school by correctly applying settings that would allow the newly installed
Cable Internet connection to work properly on all the lab machines. To attain this goal, Lee had
to speak directly to the technical support staff from AT&T Broadband, who advised him that the
kind of setup he was proposing was not possible. However, by reconfiguring several settings for
the router and the server, he was able to accomplish the task as planned.
As technology supervisor, I have had training in building, maintaining and upgrading computers
but do not carry a degree in computers. Thus, I need to look to a consultant for answers to certain
setup problems. Lee has been able to convey to me how to follow through with such tasks as
adding users to the domain, making administrative changes, installing and configuring HP Jet
Directs for the printers and adjusting software features to allow maximum usability. Lee has had
the ability to convey this information in a manner that was understandable and he used relevant
illustrations of how tasks related to each other.
I have had the chance to see first hand the capabilities that Lee has when it comes to computers
and their overall management. His work was efficient and he has continued to advise the school
in what future purchases and setups would benefit us the most. He can confidently implement
