Room 17 conducted a rubbish audit where they sorted their classroom trash into piles of compostable paper, organics, and food scraps. Isaac helped lead the organics pile. After sorting, the class properly disposed of the trash in the correct bins - the worm bin for organics, the recycling bin, and the paper recycling bin. Though it took a long time to visit all the bins around the school, Isaac learned that Room 17 did well at reducing their rubbish and had fun participating in the audit.

We recycle to help the environment and give trash a second life. The school teaches students that different types of waste, like paper and plastic, go into separate containers for recycling. As a result of recycling efforts, our school has become an eco school and teaches even kindergarteners the importance of proper recycling.
A Beautiful May day in Tirunaravur with SCOPE and permaculture
Twenty volunteers from Scope created the first of several raised garden beds using permaculture principles to grow organic vegetables for a community kitchen. Materials like sugarcane bagasse, coconut shells, and leaves were layered with vermicompost and cow dung to form the bed, which was located outside the kitchen. Volunteers worked hard in the heat to establish the base layers before dancing enthusiastically on the finished bed. Once planted, the bed will be ready to harvest vegetables in two months to feed children and seniors.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is

- 2. The Rubbish Audit Room 17 did a Rubbish Audit with our class’s rubbish in term 2. First we collected all the rubbish in the class. We had put some newspaper on the floor. Then we put the rubbish on the floor where we put the newspaper. We then sorted out the rubbish into piles like Compostable paper or Organics/Food scraps. I was a leader of one of the piles (Organics/Food scraps. Disgusting job) After we finished sorting out all the rubbish we went to the correct bin. We really tried hard to put the correct things in the correct bins. It was fun doing the rubbish audit.
- 3. Worm Bin The worms are eating our Organic Food scraps.
- 4. Going Around All The Bins When we were going around all the bins we went to the following bins listed: The worm bin, the recycling bin and the paper recycling bin. It took a long time to get around all the bins. The most annoying thing was that the bins were all over the school. By the time we got back to the classroom it was home time. I had a good time doing the rubbish audit.
- 5. The Recycling Bin We put the empty yogurt pot and the very dirty plastic water bottle in the recycling bin
- 6. Room 17’s Environment Monitors (I’m one of them. The boy on the right, holding the bag in my left hand.)
- 7. The Rest Of Our Rubbish I found out that Room 17 was good at reducing rubbish. This all the rubbish there was left.
