Did the paper straws really come to us to save the earthDongkeon Lee
Just a short thought that came to my mind, looking at paper straws I got from coffee shop. I wish this could give you some stimulus to your interest in sustainability!
Ah, the posting number is based on my homepage. You don't need to think too seriously about that :)
Alizée Buysschaert is the founder of Zero Waste Shanghai, a startup that aims to offer easy tools and solutions to help the community and businesses reduce their carbon footprint. Alizee holds an MSc in Luxury & Design Management with a specialization in Sustainable Design and Management solutions, while a large part of her past and ongoing research revolves around the Circular Economy model.
In this presentation Alizée discusses to what extent a zero waste lifestyle is doable in China, taking into account the cultural and economical constraints that goes with it. Furthermore, she will explain some basic tools and ideas on how to take your first steps towards a more sustainable every day lifestyle.

3 items to always recycle to help save the environmentArman Sadeghi
"Our environment is facing destruction every single day due to abusive human practices that are not good for our planet. We need to change our ways if we want to have sustainable resources, not only for us, but also for future generations as well. Saving our environment can be done through simple things each one of us can do. This article focuses on how we can help save the environment by recycling.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
WRI’s brand new “Food Service Playbook for Promoting Sustainable Food Choices” gives food service operators the very latest strategies for creating dining environments that empower consumers to choose sustainable, plant-rich dishes. This research builds off our first guide for food service, now with industry experience and insights from nearly 350 academic trials.
2. we would like to express our special thanks of
gratitude to our teacher MRS. MANMANT who
gave us the golden opportunity to do this
wonderful presentation on the topic RECYCLE ,
which also helped us in doing a lot of Research
and we came to know about so many new things.
we are really thankful to her.
Secondly we would also like to thank our parents
and friends who helped us a lot in finishing this
project within the limited time.
THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO HELPED US
4. To help our environment there are the 3 R’s that
We need to do-
• Reduce
• Reuse
• Recycle .
Almost everyone knows something about recycling.
we have probably seen the triangular loop of arrows
on containers, letting we know those containers can be
recycled. Each of the three arrows represents a step in the
recycling process: collection, processing and making
recyclables into new products. Keeping recyclable items
inside the Recycling Loop keeps them out of landfills and
reduces pollution.
5. Paper Items
Paper Cardboard Envelopes Phone Books Post-it Notes Magazine
Bottles and Cans
Cans Plastic Bottles Glass Bottles Aluminum cheese containers
foil
6. Decreasing unnecessary and wasteful
purchases
Decreasing the volume of waste
Decreasing pollutants
Reduce means…
8. Products made from recycled materials.
Make it truly recycling
Buy recycled
9. If you don't recycle paper, the trees that make
our oxygen won't last so much longer.
If Plastics are long-lasting, but it's these same
qualities that make plastics a danger to the
environment if they are not properly disposed
of or recycled.
If we didn’t recycle land fills will fill up and
that just cost more and more air pollution
casing us to no longer live.
10. Recycling objects ,if left in landfills, can take a
long time to completely decompose.
Plastic soda bottles and glass can take up to 1
million years to decompose
Aluminum cars and diapers can take up to 500
years
Batteries take 110 years to decompose
Paper takes between 1-5 months
13. For recycling to work ,everyone has to
participate in each phase of the loop.
For government and industry , to
organizations, and people at home, every
Indian can make recycling a part of their
daily routine.
14. The plastic bottle, paper scrap won’t recycle
itself….
It’s up to YOU to make that choice to recycle.
15. There are many good reasons for recycling bottles, which
saves energy, water and resources. Often the material can be
recovered and refashioned into new bottles. But whole or
partial containers can also be used in engaging, creative
ways by individuals. See some of these innovative green
designs here.
I've been seeing flattened wine bottle serving trays for years
at funky eco-boutiques and in catalogs, and we've always
thought they were pretty cool.
