I worked with Khawleh Elkhatib for around three years. She is an
exemplary teacher with an obvious passion for her work. She was consistently
organized, well researched (conforming to ILS), and prepared for each of her
lessons, using a variety of sources and creative methods to foster excitement in the
children for whatever that day's subject might be. Children were always given
opportunities to make individual learning choices, as well as to be part of a
community of students where they were expected to take turns and play/learn with
others. Her classroomhad a clear routine, and age appropriate expectations were
expressed in a way that the children understood;because of that, children
obviously looked forward to being in what was a harmonious, comforting, and fun
space.
As a co-worker, Khawleh was always kind, helpful, communicative,
collaborative, and professional. I found her to be a joy to work with and would
recommend her for any teaching position.
