clickingonthe soundwe want to
change and clickingonand selecting
envelopesthentoggle volume
active.
The orange bar representsthe panof the
sound,thismeansat while angle dowe hear
the sound;right,leftor centred.We dothis
because itaddseffecttoour audioand makesit
soundlike the soundsare all aroundus.When
the line iscentredthe sound will come fromthe
centre howeverwhenthe lineishigherinthe
box the soundwill be comingmore fromthe
left.Sotherefore if the barisloweritwill be
comingmore from the right.We get this
interface byrightclickingonthe soundwe want
and envelope.Thenwe select selectingtoggle
pan active.
To inserta soundwe go to the search bar at the bottomand fine the soundwe want,we thanhave to drag it
intothe grid above where we doall the editingandmergingof sounds. Thistaskbar howeverisn’talwaysthere
so if it isnot youhave to go to file andthenprojectsettings.Here youspecifythe folderyouwanttosave your
workto. You do thisforboth of the folders.Thenyougoto Reaperpreferences.Thengodowntothe plugins
menuon the taskbar andselectVST.Where itsays VSTpluginpathsclickadd andselectthe Q drive andgo to
the creative folder,soundresourcesandplugins.Selectthe folderlabelledpluginsandclickokand apply.To
bringup the mediaexplorerwindow we have toview andclickonmediaexplorer.Thiswillbringupthe media
explorerwindowatthe bottomof the screenwhich we can use to easilyaddsounds.

WhencreatingthissoundtrackI wastryingto create a wartime environment,thuswhyitgoesfrom
beingveryquietandcalmto all of a suddenbeingveryloudandsoundscomingfromall directions.

clickingonitat the pointyouwant to splitthenbypressing“S”the soundswill splitintotwoparts.I
alsomergedtwosoundsto make itfade from an explosiontosilence muchsmoother.Todothisyou
justdrag the secondsoundtrackoverthe firstat the pointyouwantthemto beginto blendandthey
will blendtogether.Imade the ambientwatersoundbe 0 dB as itwas an ambientsoundandall the
othersoundsshouldbe able tobe heard overthat.I alsoput the final explosiontobe 12 dB because
thisgivesthe listenerabiggerimpactwhenitgoesfroma huge explosionbacktonearsilent
ambientnoise.
