He was in the Military service during World War II. Went to Eureka College. He was the captain of his swimming team and participated in track. Chances to become President In his first campaign, Reagan promised that he would reduce taxes. After being elected president, he failed to deliver with his promise to reduce taxes. He also failed to name his part of candidacy and people thought he would not get a nomination.
