Read the following article about the purpose of a liberal arts
education and a Christian liberal arts education in particular:
http://www.virtualsalt.com/libarted.htm
The article makes several points about the ability to think
clearly and effectively. This is sometimes called critical
thinking. Here is a definition of critical thinking:
Critical thinking is the process of evaluating information to
reach logical conclusions and to guide decision making. This
information can be gained through observation, reflection, or
research.
Once you have read the article, answer the following questions
in a new thread:
1. The author makes 7 major points (each with its own Roman
numeral) and several other points that support these major
points. Select 1–2 of the author’s ideas that seem most
important to you and write about how these ideas affect your
life both now and in the future. If you allow yourself to be weak
in 1 or more of these areas, how will that affect you? (200-word
minimum)
2. How can a student at Liberty University be a willing
participant in the development of the skills and abilities
described in this article in his/her own life? (100-word
minimum)
Replies: Reply to at least 2 of your classmates’ answers to the
questions above. (50-word minimum for each reply)

Commitment of Professionalism 2
A great passion of mine is to advocate for child abuse and
neglect. Research shows that
child abuse and neglect is a critical issue because it happens
daily. The focus of my advocacy
efforts is child abuse and neglect as I am passionate about the
well-being and safety of all
children. I would like to address the issue of abuse and neglect
of children by their caregivers or
any adult figure. Although some parents may have the means to
provide adequate resources, they
oftentimes fail to satisfy areas of needs with children that
include but are not limited to
compassion, respect, access to learning resources, proper food
and clothing, protection and
safety, good moral character development, love and much more.
An example of a policymaker I would consult would be the
Department of Children and
Families (DCF). The Department of Children and Families
would be first on my list to contact as
they are easily accessible and ready for contact as they deal
with child abuse, exploitation, and
neglect directly. Furthermore, the Department of Children and
Families are always open to
providing information that will be useful on the topic and
assistance with furthering knowledge
on the processes and issues with child abuse and neglect. The
strategies that will be used to gain
support from the Department of Children and Families would
include formally arranging a
meeting with the Children’s Courthouse and the main
department located in Tallahassee, Florida.
There would be community events available to agencies that are
contracted under the
Department of Children and Families regarding receiving their
support; as we battle against the
same cause. Becoming an active volunteer within the agency
will establish a collaborative effort
to fight against an issue that we both are passionate about. The
strategies would include taking
part in open-ended conversations, telling stories to persuade the
individuals at hand, creating a
plan to combat these issues through advocacy and ensuring that
they are adhered to, telling
narratives and building and leveraging the already established
relationships. “Building

relationships is intrinsic to any successful advocacy effort and
should also commence at an early
stage” (Payán et al, 2017). Another important strategy would be
working with the support groups
for mothers and caregivers. Engaging in open-ended dialogue
would be an effective way of
persuading a person about the importance of a particular issue.
The strategies to gain support through collective advocacy
would include partnering up
with other professionals dealing with a similar issue, taking
supporters through engagement
funnels and leveraging established relationships. supporters who
are curious about the issue can
be guided through several asks to ensure that their level of
commitment to the issue is increased.
Networking with other individuals who share one’s cause is
crucial to gain support. “it can be
important to consult with other organizations, especially those
which share similar goals and
interests” (Hock et al, 2018). It is important to link with the
providers of special services such as
occupational therapists and work with the support groups.
One talking point is how neglected students are likely to
underperform in school due to
child appearance, bruises and appetite, also lack support
services that often lead to abuse and
neglect. For example, Owen used to come to school with soil
and smelly clothes, bruises on his
back and hungry. He is performing poorly in all of his subjects
in school. His parents were not
very supportive and would miss parent meetings held in the
school such as family fun nights. His
parents were informed of the need to attend school meetings and
told that it was a requirement to
attend them. After attending several meetings, the teacher was
able to discuss the child’s living
situation and the poor performance of Owens with the parents.
He later found out that the parents
were having difficulties at home and not have learning materials
for math such as wooden blocks
at home. The parents were urged to get come help and purchase
the wooden blocks for Owen to
practice math while at home. They were also urged to help him
with learning at home.

Eventually, getting services helped the performance of Owen in
both math and science greatly
improved. Children thrive when their parents can promote
positive growth and development.
I will care for and educate children in positive emotional and
social environments that are
cognitively stimulating and ensure that all stakeholders provide
the necessary care to the
children. Key fact handouts will be developed containing facts
on the topic of child abuse and
neglect. The information to be represented in the handout will
include the effects of neglect on
child growth and development. Talking points on the benefits of
taking care of children will be
developed. There will also be white papers to ensure that the
problem of neglect of students is
described in detail. This will be done by welcoming the
students who have been enrolled in
internships or other courses requiring them to interact with
children, mentoring and coaching
novices to enhance their skills and knowledge of young children
and being a resource to those
who want to know more about career options in the field of
early childhood education. by
welcoming interns, one can help them learn more about the field
and direct them. Some people
may also not understand the area they should specialize in. It is
important to guide them and to
ensure that they understand the best career options.
The efforts will support the field away from unskilled workers
by ensuring that they learn

Supporting Developmentally Appropriate Practices 2
About my core value, the vision, values, and mission obtained
from the center of my
choice in week one, the program follows and meets
Developmentally Appropriate Practices
(DAP) guidelines in several ways. First by ensuring that
children are provided with quality
programs- and that these are programs in which children will
grow, learn and developmentally
progress through their early educational years. One of the
actions in which Developmentally
Appropriate Practices (DAP) is being implemented is that the
children are being acknowledged
for what they say and do. When a student has answered a
question, the teacher has to give
positive comments to acknowledge their contributions.
The three strategies in which Developmentally Appropriate
Practices (DAP) can be
implemented would be through encouraging the persistence of
children, giving specific feedback
and asking questions that provoke children’s thinking.
“Encourage persistence and effort rather
than just praising and evaluating what the child has done”
(National Association for the
Education of Young Children, 2016). Students may be thanked
for their efforts; however, the
teacher should not make them feel like they have already made
it. He/she should inform them of
ways they could improve or identify areas that need some
changes to make them put more effort
into studying. However, assisting children and giving directions
for their current competence.
Giving specific feedback would also be an effective strategy in
which Developmentally
Appropriate Practices (DAP) could be implemented. When
students get specific feedback, they
understand the specific errors they have done and how they can
improve. Teachers should not
just give general comments, but they should try to give specific
feedback that makes it easy for
students to improve. The last strategy would be to ask questions
that provoke the children’s
thinking. Open-ended questions would be useful in this case.
Students would have an

Environment Evaluation 2
The environment to be observed is the preschooler classroom.
Color has been used
efficiently in the classroom to enhance students' learning. The
most dominant colors are yellow
and red, and these colors tend to bring excitement to children
and increase their brain activity.
The floor covering is a mat that contains letters of the alphabet
and the wall coverings have
different flags and shapes. The three recommendations for
improvement in the classroom
environment are to incorporate natural light into the classroom,
provide adequate materials for
learning and use more wall coverings to enhance children's
learning and understanding.
The classroom lighting scheme should consist of both natural
and artificial light. Both
students and teachers would benefit from incorporating natural
light into the classroom. “Natural
light is shown to benefit the health, concentration and even test
scores of pupils” (Cassidy et al,
2015). Architectural constraints may, however, limit the
incorporation of natural light into the
classroom. there should be an optimum illuminance of light.
This is because low illuminance
leads to reduced concentration while high illuminance affects
the concentration of students
negatively.
Adequate learning materials should be provided such as lacing
cards, wooden pattern
blocks, trace-n-erase chalkboards, LEGO blocks, puppets,
Magna-tiles, and puzzles. “Using
puppets to talk to children adds an element of fun to teaching an
important lesson” (Hirsh-Pasek
et al, 2017). Wooden block patterns would improve math
learning amongst the students. Lacing
cards would be effective in helping children gain fine motor
skills while the trace-n-erase
chalkboard would be useful in teaching students the letters of
the alphabet.
More wall coverings can be added. These may include the
calendar and paintings of
various wild animals such as zebras, lions, and elephants. The
modes of transport may also be
included in the walls such as buses, bicycles, motorcycles,
ships, and planes. The strengths of the

classroom design were an appropriate use of colors, use of floor
coverings and availability of a
woodwork area. Two bright colors were used; red and yellow.
These colors would increase the brain activity of students. The
floor coverings contained
letters of the alphabet, and this would enable the children to
grasp the letters easily. Floor
coverings can easily be seen by students because they observe
the floor most of the time. By
having letters of the alphabet written on the floor, students get a
chance to view and familiarize
themselves with the letters of the alphabet. “Floor coverings are
the foundation for
positive learning environments in the education sector. They
can make an important contribution
towards students and teachers feeling comfortable, motivated to
perform and staying healthy”
(Cassidy et al, 2015). Woodwork area would be useful for using
tools such as wooden blocks for
learning. Students can practice doing various activities such as
counting that enhance their
mathematical skills and gross and motor skills.
I think both the strengths and recommendations should be
improved to enhance the level
of understanding of children and increase their concentration.
Improving the strengths would
also improve the speed of learning of the children. The
strengths can be improved by conducting
more research to identify the right mix of colors to use and what
to include in the floor
coverings. Administrators can use the standards for the learning
environment or assess the effect
of more strengths on the learning of the children before they
implement new designs.

Personal core values statement and reflection
An effective leader must demonstrate several competencies.
First of all, he/she must be
able to communicate effectively. Effective leaders are
accessible and approachable. They can
listen to the perspectives of other people such as fellow teachers
and parents. Effective leaders
- 1 -
[no notes on this page]
must also have a vision. The vision guides their programs and
gives them the correct direction to
follow. They must create a vision and goals for their followers,
and inspire them to achieve the
goals.
An effective leader must demonstrate decisiveness. He/she must
confidently make
decisions. However, the decisions have to be informed.
Effective leaders also possess the ability
to teach, coach and mentor their staff. “Effectively mentor,
coach, and teach their staff: instill
confidence; show a commitment to working with others to
develop their knowledge and skills;
encourage others to take on new responsibilities and realize
their goals” (Müller et al, 2010).
This helps to improve the performance of other people such as
employees at the workplace or
students.
Optimism and self-confidence also make an effective leader.
They must always expect
positive things to occur and hope for the best in others. They
should have the belief that they can
lead well, set goals and achieve them. They must also be self-
driven to succeed. An effective
leader would not expect to gain motivation from other people
such as managers. He/she
understands that certain goals have to be achieved. These
leaders are also trustworthy and
knowledgeable.
Being a program administrator, it would be satisfying to manage
teams and provide
solutions to problems that face them. It would also be good to
see students succeed in their life,
especially in academics. There is the satisfaction that comes
with seeing students succeed in life
and schools performing well. There is also an inner desire to
manage school programs. Also,
learn how to manage the budget for the school.

Personal core values statement and reflection 3
The personal characteristics currently possessed include
competence, competition,
creativity, respect for others, knowledge, diversity, and
compassion. There is also an adequate
knowledge in education such as ways to improve educational
programs. One must understand
how to solve problems that may arise in educational programs
or the classroom setting as a
program administrator. According to Freeman, Decker, C.A. &
Decker, J. R. like the statement
of the program’s core values, its development should be a
collaborative process that gives all
staff the opportunity to shape the program’s future (2018, sec
2.2).
Respect for others is a core personal characteristic. This is
because learners are likely to
come from various cultural backgrounds. Teachers may also
come from different races and
cultural backgrounds. It is, therefore, important to respect
everyone irrespective of their race,
cultural background or class in society. Diversity also relates to
respect for others. "Respect
diversity in children, families, and colleagues” (Pizzolongo,
2005). An educational center may
have people from diverse backgrounds. One must ensure that
he/she acknowledges diversity. For
example, views of students may be taken according to their
diverse backgrounds.
Having compassion has been helpful in the past. Compassion
has been an inner drive to
achieve the goals that have been set previously. Creativity has
been a crucial competency in
education. For example, creativity has helped design teaching
curriculums that ensure that all
students are adequately engaged in learning. Various
educational problems have been solved in
the past due to creativity.
To cultivate self-confidence, it will important to always present
oneself with confidence.
This includes when making a presentation or talking to others.
It will also be important to accept
one’s imperfections. “One must have a belief to succeed despite
his/her imperfections, and this
will improve self-confidence” (Halle et al, 2010). Self-
confidence will also be cultivated by

ensuring that one always does his/her best. To cultivate other
characteristics such as optimism
and self-motivation, it will be good to try solving more
problems in educational settings. One can
get more engaged in the learning of students to improve the
characteristics needed to achieve
their goals.

The Purpose of a Christian Liberal Arts Education
Top of Form
In this article the author made several good points about Liberal
arts education and they can improve someones life. Two of the
points that I agree completely with are that, a liberal arts
education enhances wisdom and faith, and a liberal arts
education will contribute to your happiness. I chose these points
because these types of courses help me to realize what I need to
learn to become competent. My faith also grows because for
example science courses truly show God's beautiful design.
Other courses like psychology show how humans react to
certain things in life and that is kind of similar to how the bible
works and how it relates to real world issues. These types of
courses can also lead to increased happiness. I also believe they
can contribute to higher self-esteem. Once these types of
courses are taken you feel like you have gained more essential
knowledge than you have in the past or at all. If I am weak or
slacking off in any of these points of focus then I have a feeling
of disappointment in myself. I also feel like I could've worked
harder to achieve a greater sense of faith or happiness in these
types of courses.
A student at Liberty University could do many things to
help others develop these types of skills in their own lives. For
example if there is a topic that someone is very proficient in
then he or she could spend time tutoring someone who may not
be as good at a specific topic as them. They could also give
suggestions or use their personal testimonies to help others who
may be struggling to keep up with these types of courses. So in
conclusion there are several ways a Liberty University student
could use this article in their own lives to help others.

Although I agreed with all points in this article, there were
a few that I could really relate to. The very first point says,
“A liberal arts education teaches you how to think; you will
develop strength of mind and an ordered intellect.” Explaining
that the mind is a muscle and it must be exercised in order to
get stronger is a powerful statement. In the article the writer
says, “exercising the mind in one area will strengthen it for
learning in other areas as well.” When I first started
taking college courses two years ago, I was nervous and didn’t
know if I could juggle family, work and school all full time.
The first classes I took taught me better study habits for tests
and quizzes. It taught me time management and how to juggle
the very things I was combating. Because I was able to open
my mind and absorb all this information, it allowed me to
maintain my schedule and I have yet to turn in one
late assignment. So, from just my college experience so far, I
can say that expanding your mind will lead to a successful
outcome. Once class has built upon another to ensure I will
graduate with a newfound wealth of information I can apply to
my everyday life.
The second point I agree with strongly is that a liberal arts
education will allow you to think for yourself. They say
knowledge is power and the more you know the more equip you
are facing everyday situations. The article was very accurate in
saying, “although a liberal arts education will not teach you
how to take out an appendix or sue your neighbor, it will teach
you how to live.” (Harris, R. 2010) Having that extended
knowledge will make it a lot harder to be persuaded easily.
Having a sound process when it comes to thinking thoroughly is
the key to making more precise decisions in your life.
If I wasn't interested in learning new things and expanded
my knowledge, then in my opinion, I would not be able
to decipher through many situations that present themselves to
me daily. I work in education and if I didn't have the education
I currently have, then I would not be able to navigate through
certain aspects of my job. My degree is in
business administration and I have learned a wealth of
information that I use every day with my job. I am grateful for
this opportunity and I know that the more I learn through
Liberty University, the more I will be equipped to live a better
life.

  • 1. Read the following article about the purpose of a liberal arts education and a Christian liberal arts education in particular: http://www.virtualsalt.com/libarted.htm The article makes several points about the ability to think clearly and effectively. This is sometimes called critical thinking. Here is a definition of critical thinking: Critical thinking is the process of evaluating information to reach logical conclusions and to guide decision making. This information can be gained through observation, reflection, or research. Once you have read the article, answer the following questions in a new thread: 1. The author makes 7 major points (each with its own Roman numeral) and several other points that support these major points. Select 1–2 of the author’s ideas that seem most important to you and write about how these ideas affect your life both now and in the future. If you allow yourself to be weak in 1 or more of these areas, how will that affect you? (200-word minimum) 2. How can a student at Liberty University be a willing participant in the development of the skills and abilities described in this article in his/her own life? (100-word minimum) Replies: Reply to at least 2 of your classmates’ answers to the questions above. (50-word minimum for each reply)

Running head: Commitment to Professionalism 1 Commitment to Professionalism Annette Williams ECE671: Management and Administration of Early Childhood Programs Instructor Guevara March 23, 2020 Commitment to Professionalism - 1 - [no notes on this page] Commitment of Professionalism 2 A great passion of mine is to advocate for child abuse and neglect. Research shows that child abuse and neglect is a critical issue because it happens daily. The focus of my advocacy efforts is child abuse and neglect as I am passionate about the well-being and safety of all children. I would like to address the issue of abuse and neglect of children by their caregivers or any adult figure. Although some parents may have the means to

An example of a policymaker I would consult would be the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The Department of Children and Families would be first on my list to contact as they are easily accessible and ready for contact as they deal with child abuse, exploitation, and neglect directly. Furthermore, the Department of Children and Families are always open to providing information that will be useful on the topic and assistance with furthering knowledge on the processes and issues with child abuse and neglect. The strategies that will be used to gain support from the Department of Children and Families would include formally arranging a meeting with the Children’s Courthouse and the main department located in Tallahassee, Florida. There would be community events available to agencies that are contracted under the

Another important strategy would be working with the support groups for mothers and caregivers. Engaging in open-ended dialogue would be an effective way of persuading a person about the importance of a particular issue. The strategies to gain support through collective advocacy would include partnering up with other professionals dealing with a similar issue, taking supporters through engagement funnels and leveraging established relationships. supporters who are curious about the issue can be guided through several asks to ensure that their level of commitment to the issue is increased.
  • 7. Networking with other individuals who share one’s cause is crucial to gain support. “it can be important to consult with other organizations, especially those which share similar goals and interests” (Hock et al, 2018). It is important to link with the providers of special services such as occupational therapists and work with the support groups. One talking point is how neglected students are likely to underperform in school due to child appearance, bruises and appetite, also lack support services that often lead to abuse and neglect. For example, Owen used to come to school with soil and smelly clothes, bruises on his back and hungry. He is performing poorly in all of his subjects in school. His parents were not very supportive and would miss parent meetings held in the school such as family fun nights. His parents were informed of the need to attend school meetings and told that it was a requirement to attend them. After attending several meetings, the teacher was able to discuss the child’s living situation and the poor performance of Owens with the parents. He later found out that the parents were having difficulties at home and not have learning materials

Talking points on the benefits of taking care of children will be developed. There will also be white papers to ensure that the problem of neglect of students is described in detail. This will be done by welcoming the students who have been enrolled in internships or other courses requiring them to interact with children, mentoring and coaching novices to enhance their skills and knowledge of young children and being a resource to those who want to know more about career options in the field of early childhood education. by welcoming interns, one can help them learn more about the field and direct them. Some people may also not understand the area they should specialize in. It is important to guide them and to ensure that they understand the best career options. First by ensuring that children are provided with quality programs- and that these are programs in which children will grow, learn and developmentally progress through their early educational years. One of the actions in which Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) is being implemented is that the children are being acknowledged for what they say and do. When a student has answered a question, the teacher has to give positive comments to acknowledge their contributions. The three strategies in which Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) can be implemented would be through encouraging the persistence of children, giving specific feedback and asking questions that provoke children’s thinking. “Encourage persistence and effort rather than just praising and evaluating what the child has done” (National Association for the Education of Young Children, 2016). Students may be thanked for their efforts; however, the

Giving specific feedback would also be an effective strategy in which Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) could be implemented. When students get specific feedback, they understand the specific errors they have done and how they can improve. Teachers should not just give general comments, but they should try to give specific feedback that makes it easy for students to improve. The last strategy would be to ask questions that provoke the children’s thinking. Open-ended questions would be useful in this case. Students would have an - 2 - 1 2 3 1. provided with quality

The most dominant colors are yellow and red, and these colors tend to bring excitement to children and increase their brain activity. The floor covering is a mat that contains letters of the alphabet and the wall coverings have different flags and shapes. The three recommendations for improvement in the classroom environment are to incorporate natural light into the classroom, provide adequate materials for learning and use more wall coverings to enhance children's learning and understanding. The classroom lighting scheme should consist of both natural and artificial light. Both students and teachers would benefit from incorporating natural light into the classroom. “Natural light is shown to benefit the health, concentration and even test scores of pupils” (Cassidy et al,
  • 27. 2015). Architectural constraints may, however, limit the incorporation of natural light into the classroom. there should be an optimum illuminance of light. This is because low illuminance leads to reduced concentration while high illuminance affects the concentration of students negatively. Adequate learning materials should be provided such as lacing cards, wooden pattern blocks, trace-n-erase chalkboards, LEGO blocks, puppets, Magna-tiles, and puzzles. “Using puppets to talk to children adds an element of fun to teaching an important lesson” (Hirsh-Pasek et al, 2017). Wooden block patterns would improve math learning amongst the students. Lacing cards would be effective in helping children gain fine motor skills while the trace-n-erase chalkboard would be useful in teaching students the letters of the alphabet. More wall coverings can be added. These may include the calendar and paintings of various wild animals such as zebras, lions, and elephants. The modes of transport may also be included in the walls such as buses, bicycles, motorcycles,

These colors would increase the brain activity of students. The floor coverings contained letters of the alphabet, and this would enable the children to grasp the letters easily. Floor coverings can easily be seen by students because they observe the floor most of the time. By having letters of the alphabet written on the floor, students get a chance to view and familiarize
  • 30. themselves with the letters of the alphabet. “Floor coverings are the foundation for positive learning environments in the education sector. They can make an important contribution towards students and teachers feeling comfortable, motivated to perform and staying healthy” (Cassidy et al, 2015). Woodwork area would be useful for using tools such as wooden blocks for learning. Students can practice doing various activities such as counting that enhance their mathematical skills and gross and motor skills. I think both the strengths and recommendations should be improved to enhance the level of understanding of children and increase their concentration. Improving the strengths would also improve the speed of learning of the children. The strengths can be improved by conducting more research to identify the right mix of colors to use and what to include in the floor coverings. Administrators can use the standards for the learning environment or assess the effect of more strengths on the learning of the children before they implement new designs.

They can listen to the perspectives of other people such as fellow teachers and parents. Effective leaders - 1 - [no notes on this page] must also have a vision. The vision guides their programs and gives them the correct direction to follow. They must create a vision and goals for their followers, and inspire them to achieve the goals. This helps to improve the performance of other people such as employees at the workplace or students. Optimism and self-confidence also make an effective leader. They must always expect positive things to occur and hope for the best in others. They should have the belief that they can lead well, set goals and achieve them. They must also be self- driven to succeed. An effective leader would not expect to gain motivation from other people such as managers. He/she understands that certain goals have to be achieved. Respect for others is a core personal characteristic. This is because learners are likely to come from various cultural backgrounds. Teachers may also come from different races and cultural backgrounds. It is, therefore, important to respect everyone irrespective of their race, cultural background or class in society. Two of the
  • 54. points that I agree completely with are that, a liberal arts education enhances wisdom and faith, and a liberal arts education will contribute to your happiness. I chose these points because these types of courses help me to realize what I need to learn to become competent. My faith also grows because for example science courses truly show God's beautiful design. Other courses like psychology show how humans react to certain things in life and that is kind of similar to how the bible works and how it relates to real world issues. These types of courses can also lead to increased happiness. I also believe they can contribute to higher self-esteem. Once these types of courses are taken you feel like you have gained more essential knowledge than you have in the past or at all. If I am weak or slacking off in any of these points of focus then I have a feeling of disappointment in myself. I also feel like I could've worked harder to achieve a greater sense of faith or happiness in these types of courses. A student at Liberty University could do many things to help others develop these types of skills in their own lives. For example if there is a topic that someone is very proficient in then he or she could spend time tutoring someone who may not be as good at a specific topic as them. They could also give suggestions or use their personal testimonies to help others who may be struggling to keep up with these types of courses. So in conclusion there are several ways a Liberty University student could use this article in their own lives to help others. Bottom of Form Jocelyn James-Smith DB 1 Collapse Top of Form Although I agreed with all points in this article, there were a few that I could really relate to. The very first point says, “A liberal arts education teaches you how to think; you will
  • 55. develop strength of mind and an ordered intellect.” Explaining that the mind is a muscle and it must be exercised in order to get stronger is a powerful statement. In the article the writer says, “exercising the mind in one area will strengthen it for learning in other areas as well.” When I first started taking college courses two years ago, I was nervous and didn’t know if I could juggle family, work and school all full time. The first classes I took taught me better study habits for tests and quizzes. It taught me time management and how to juggle the very things I was combating. Because I was able to open my mind and absorb all this information, it allowed me to maintain my schedule and I have yet to turn in one late assignment. So, from just my college experience so far, I can say that expanding your mind will lead to a successful outcome. Once class has built upon another to ensure I will graduate with a newfound wealth of information I can apply to my everyday life. The second point I agree with strongly is that a liberal arts education will allow you to think for yourself. They say knowledge is power and the more you know the more equip you are facing everyday situations.
