This document summarizes a student group's industrial tour of Rahimafrooz Batteries Ltd, a lead-acid battery manufacturer in Bangladesh. The 6-member group visited the factory to learn about its battery manufacturing process. Rahimafrooz Batteries Ltd. The largest lead-acid
battery manufacturer in Bangladesh. We got the
opportunity for doing one day visit at Rahimafrooz
company under Rahimafrooz Batteries Ltd.
In Rahimafrooz Batteries Limited, we have gathered
the practical experience about the manufacturing
process of differences types of batteries and battery
manufacturing mechanisms.

8. Type of battery
Rahimafrooz Batteries ltd makes 8 types of batteries . They are:-
Passenger Car Battery: RBL offers a complete line maintenance free lead
acid batteries for passenger cars.
Commercial Vehicles Battery: RBL manufacture premium maintenance free
automotive batteries for heavy duty commercial vehicles.
Electric vehicle battery: An electric-vehicle battery is a battery used to power
the electric motors of a battery electric vehicle or hybrid electric vehicle. These
batteries are usually rechargeable batteries, and are typically lithium-ion batteries.

9. Forklift Battery: They manufactured a specific battery; 3 RD240 for forklift also.
Golf Carts Battery: It’s use a series of batteries that supply the needed voltage
and amperage, so size and power requirements are key features for a replacement.
Be aware that golf carts do not use a single battery, but multiples of 6V, 8V, or 12V
batteries. Ensure any replacement batteries you purchase use the same
combination.
Solar Battery: Their solar batteries are designed provide consistent power for
renewable energy application.

amount of current for a longer duration of time.
Telecom Battery: RBL manufacture batteries of exceptional quality for
verities of telecom application.

To complete the whole manufacturing process, industry (RBL) use modern machineries . For

Rotary Furnace
Rotary furnace is designed for treatment and recovery of Lead
from Lead Acid Batteries Scrap and for the reduction of Lead
Sulphate , Lead Oxides, Lead Concentrates, Lead Dross and
Lead Ore. Rotary Furnace will work at temperature of about
(1000-1200)0 C.

This machine manufacture various types of battery box through
the injection molding process. Polypropylene is used to prepare
the plastic cover. This machine takes only few seconds to prepare
one box.
Different sizes and types of grids are prepared in grid casting
machine. Different quantities of antimony lead are used to prepare
the grid. Grid casting machine has different parts where lead alloy
is melted first then it is poured in the mold part where grids are
formed. Then it is sent to the cutter to cut the scrap part.

13. Automatic LeakTesting Machine(air)
By leak testing machine a positive air is fitted to the six cells of
the battery and then pressure builds up for five to six seconds. If
the pressure leaks or drops more than a certain level in a certain
time, then the alarm will ring. This leak testing process is also
applied to the two adjust cells.
