Talk delivered at Guide Share Europe Conference 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QunNECL26M
This document discusses the concept of cloud computing and its implications for businesses. It begins with definitions of cloud computing and discusses various cloud service models (infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, software as a service) and deployment models (private cloud, public cloud, hybrid cloud). It then addresses how cloud computing provides opportunities for resellers to offer new services while some users still have concerns about security and reliability. The cloud market is growing rapidly but still makes up a small percentage of overall IT spending currently.
The document provides an overview of cloud computing including definitions, architecture, service models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), types of clouds (public, private, hybrid), and virtualization. It also discusses the benefits and drawbacks of cloud computing and provides a case study example of a financial services group that migrated its infrastructure to the cloud with Allied Digital for improved flexibility, security, and cost savings.
Thanks to technological advances, cloud computing is increasingly becoming a standard within the IT world. Companies (of any size) are trying to migrate the traditional existing systems to the "Cloud". In addition, the cloud computing services market is exploding and the demand for developers with expertise in this area continues to grow.
These slides are dedicated to the basic concepts of cloud computing: the various existing models will be illustrated and the different existing platforms introduced and compared
Developers are constantly seeking an easier and faster way to build and ship new and modern software features and capabilities based on the latest and greatest cloud APIs. DevOps teams and IT professionals, on the other hand, face the challenge of controlling security, compliance, performance, scalability, and availability of the underlying infrastructure environments. Can both of these initiatives be achieved?
These slides based on the webinar featuring Torsten Volk, research director at leading IT analyst firm EMA, highlight how to bridge the gap between these two key initiatives and transform corporate IT into an accelerator for digital transformation.

As more IT leaders pick Microsoft Teams as their collaboration application, they are quickly running into challenges implementing a complementary, robust voice solution. Until now, third-party telephony solutions for Teams have been clunky and often complex. Recently, Microsoft opened the ‘Voice’ portion of the Teams app, allowing UCaaS providers to integrate directly with the Teams’ platform. This move by Microsoft completely changes the paradigm and sets a new bar for voice integration with Teams. Learn about Microsoft Teams for voice and how cloud-to-cloud integration changes the landscape.
Many IT leaders have implemented Microsoft (MS) Teams as their collaboration application. It is a natural extension of their Office 365 licenses. In addition, COVID has accelerated user adoption. For the most part, the platform is performing well. However, some IT leaders are looking at pairing options for more robust, best-of-breed voice and video conferencing solutions.
Below Zoom and 8x8 provide an exclusive briefing for The CIO Circle on unified communications and integration with Microsoft Teams. ATC’s CTO, Nick Enger, moderates the discussion.
Threats have increased exponentially. Current indicators show a massive increase in threat vectors as a result of COVID-19. What makes this more unsettling is the fact that most ransomware will remain dormant for months before activating. Check out this presentation with ATC provider, TPx. Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Hi, I’m Derek Siler, Solution Architect for Flexential’s Channel Sales organization and in this video where we’re going to talk about FlexAnywhere, Flexential’s platform of integrated infrastructure, networking and managed services that come together to deliver multi-cloud solutions for your client’s hybrid IT environments and future-proof their technology investments.
So let’s start with some definitions, first, what exactly is hybrid IT and multi-cloud? Hybrid IT refers to client’s with workloads in the cloud and other workloads that were never “born in the cloud”, meaning they’ve always run in a legacy data center on client-owned infrastructure. And multi-cloud means just as it sounds, clients using more than one cloud platform for their IT needs.
Your clients likely want to be out of the data center and move to the cloud, but they may not know how, particularly for these legacy applications. And these are very important apps to their business, like their ERP platform that manages their general ledger. So how do you help move them to the cloud for these complex, multi-tier apps that have always run on-premise?
That’s Flexential’s unique superpower and what our FlexAnywhere platform is purpose-built to do.
So let’s get started learning more about it, and the sales tools we have to help you sell these deals, and discover how rewarding these deals can be for you!!

Its challenges like this that the Flexential platform can help with.
We provide our customers and a blueprint of infrastructure services and managed services all connected on a common network backbone to move workloads to the cloud.
Think of Flexential as a set of integrated capabilities.
We span 40 data centers across 19 markets. With multiple cloud and disaster recovery locations and over 35 public cloud on ramps.
Managed service and Security service compliment this infrastructure to keep your environments up and running and protected at all times.
We even include integrated DDoS protection into our network services and our 100GB fiber backbone interconnects all our data centers and cloud nodes and can take you to the front door of all the major cloud providers.
And our Professional can help you optimize your public cloud spend or providing cybersecurity consulting to help you determine your maturity in the cybersecurity model.
So let’s dive a little deeper across the individual components of the FlexAnywhere platform, first is a fleet of fiber-rich data centers across multiple markets, many of which are purpose built for high performance computing and capable of delivering redundant power and cooling for high density deployments up to 50kW per rack.
And since slow is the new down, our 100 gig fiber network keeps your customer’s apps up, running and quickly connected with the lowest latency possible, no matter where they work, central or remote.
With major cloud regions across the US, we can also provide you with a robust set of private, multi-tenant and hybrid cloud solutions.
We even have the lowest latency access to the Asia and Latin American markets subsea cables riding on our network backbone and even terminating in our data center facilities.
So that’s a little bit about the power of the FlexAnywhere platform and what it can deliver but for partners asking “that’s great…what’s in it for me?”, just know that these hybrid deals we win together grow over time, they don’t stay static, so your disaster recovery deal with will soon grow to include production hosting as we deliver more value to your customer, and that means more earning potential for you as deals “land and expand”, also many of these opportunities require dedicated gear, like servers and storage, we’ll buy that gear from you, the partner that brings us the deal if that fits your business model, so you can benefit not just from the recurring commission, but get the upfront sale too.

As if all that wasn’t enough, we’re emerging from a global pandemic that has forever changes our businesses and our IT priorities.
Cloud usage is ramping faster than ever…BUT realization has set in that not every project we’ve invested in over last 2-3 years is yielding proper ROI.
This is creating a focus on multi-cloud workload placement and much more focus on containing costs.
BUT – Those two are too often polar opposites of each other! The more distributed your workloads become, the more complexity (and cost) creeps into the business.
Moving to the cloud can help, but what kind of cloud? Some workloads are great for public clouds like AWS, but that’s not the right platform for every workload. Refactoring legacy apps for the public cloud can be cumbersome, you might would need to change processes, learn new technologies and hire staff certified on running apps in the public cloud. Public cloud certainly has its place but it really is not a one size fits all.
Complimenting this is our VMware verified cloud portfolio which includes an industry-first hosted private cloud with dedicated vCenter access, this gives clients the ability to integrate third-party software they may be using on-premise to manage their virtual environments with, they can just plug that software right into our cloud.
So for example, let’s say your client wants to run their own backup software, perhaps licenses you own We can support that, you can port those licenses right into to the Flexential private cloud, you don’t have to jettison this investment.
Or maybe they want to use vMotion to seamlessly move workloads between multiple environments? We can support that too.
Advanced use cases like this simply aren’t capable with most VMware managed cloud providers, but with Flexential’s HPC Advanced Access private cloud, your private cloud is tailored to how you want to run it.
And our resilient DR locations protect client’s critical data with low recovery points and recovery times ideal for mission critical applications with built-in storage journaling to let your customer restore back to a clean system if they’ve had a cyber intrusion, and all of this can be tested on-demand without interrupting DR replication, so your environment is continuously protected, even when testing.
