IT leaders are adopting hybrid cloud services at a rapid pace to increase business agility and cost containment. According to a February 2016 IDG study on Hybrid Cloud Computing, up to 83 percent of C-level respondents use or plan to use a hybrid cloud.27 Transforming IT service delivery to a hybrid cloud consumption model is the clear path for the vast majority of organizations. The bigger issue is how quickly an organization can change.
While building your own hybrid cloud solution may seem attractive, you should seriously evaluate the challenges such an option presents to already overextended IT staff resources. As detailed in this paper, organizations must be prepared for the likelihood of higher costs, longer deployments, and greater risks than they may initially expect. In addition, the IT community as a whole is rapidly moving away from integrating components and delivering services manually to a more strategic focus on providing high-value services to businesses.
The race to deliver cloud-native applications and services to the business demands that traditional IT services and applications either evolve to a hybrid cloud consumption model or risk placing the business at a competitive disadvantage. An engineered solution not only saves time, money, and resources but also allows your IT staff to focus on innovation and delivering IT services that increase business value and align with the evolving marketplace of IT services for enterprise-level organizations.
Organizations should seize the opportunity to achieve the transformational efficiencies the hybrid cloud can deliver. When planning your journey, consider buying rather than building your own solution to speed time to value, minimize expenditures, and reduce risk.

How to create a secure high performance storage and compute infrastructureAbhishek Sood
Creating a secure, high-performance enterprise storage system presents a number of challenges.
Without a high throughput, low latency connection between your SAN and your cloud compute infrastructure, your business will struggle to extract actionable insights in time to make the best decisions.
Download this white paper to discover technology designed to deliver maximum storage and compute capacity for enterprises, with massive data stores, that need to solve business problems fast without compromising the security of user information.
Over the last decade, cloud computing has transformed the market for IT services. But the journey to cloud adoption has not been without its share of twists and turns. This report looks at lessons that can be derived from companies' experiences implementing cloud computing technology.
Despite years of industry advocacy, cloud adoption in larger firms remains slow. There are many logos for many vendors dotting the cloud technology landscape and many competing architectures. But there are also few standards that guarantee the interoperability of different approaches.
The latest buzz in enterprise cloud technology is around “hybrid cloud data centers” in which large enterprises “build their base” – that is, their core infrastructure, possibly as a “private cloud” – and “buy their burst” – that is, obtain additional public cloud- based resources and services to augment their on-premises capabilities during periods of peak workload handling, for application development, or for business continuity.
Ultimately, the adoption of cloud architecture will be gated by how successfully organizations are able to leverage emerging technologies in a secure and reliable manner and whether the resulting infrastructure actually delivers in the key areas of cost-containment, risk reduction and improved productivity.

As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

What the future holds for the hybrid cloud
1. What the future holds for the Hybrid Cloud?
Many companies have readily accepted the cloud as the way forward. Organizations already
having a private or public cloud solution(s) have started to realize the importance of having the
best of both worlds. Not only, do they want to save costs through pay-as-you-go pricing models
(public cloud), but they also want a higher security for mission-critical applications (private
cloud). Brings us to the question, what the acceptance of a hybrid cloud model mean for
business enterprises in future?
Though, it will take some more time for companies to shift critical workloads to the hybrid cloud
environment, future trends clearly indicate a preference for hybrid cloud computing. In fact,
Gartner has predicted that almost 50% of the larger organizations will have embraced hybrid
cloud models by the end of 2017.
IDG Research surveyed IT and business executives about the importance of digital
transformation, its goals, and how to achieve them, and found that hybrid cloud computing,
including two or more of a data center, a public cloud, a private cloud and a managed private
cloud, is the future of enterprise IT. While 83 percent use or will use hybrid cloud environments,
2. 88 percent believe hybrid capabilities are important or critical to enabling digital business
transformation.
Starting with a private cloud model for their IT infrastructure, enterprises have kept their
options open for the future. For instance, a business enterprise decides to kick-start a pilot
testing/development project on a robust technology foundation that provides room for
expanding towards hybrid cloud interoperability.
Having said that, let us take a look at current and emerging trends and see why hybrid cloud
computing is the future of IT.
The Key Benefits Of A Hybrid Cloud
One of the key benefits of a hybrid cloud is provisioning at a lower cost and high speed (as and
when required functionality of the public cloud component). However, without proper
management of provisioning and de-provisioning cycles, the cost element can rise significantly.
A properly configured hybrid cloud solution changes the conversation between IT and the
business as it shortens timeframes and expands possibilities.
“Enterprises that run significant workloads in hybrid environments find IT cost savings, which
allows funds to be redirected to improve business outcomes, and are more likely to be ahead of
their competitors in digital-ready infrastructure and digital business transformation. The
average reduction in IT cost from hybrid cloud is 24 percent, according to the IDG study.”
Big Data And IoT
Data collection and data management happen at various levels in a business. The Internet of
Things (IoT) and Big Data poses major data management challenges for the IT department of
any organization. Here, the hybrid cloud model can prove to be a real asset in fulfilling the
demand for continuous data access, improved bandwidth, higher data storage, and better data
computation abilities.
3. Time = Money
Business enterprises not keen on outsourcing spend huge amounts of money and time in the
management of resources and services…in-house. Outsourcing the management of resources,
infrastructure and support to third party cloud service providers can free up the enterprises’
internal resources to focus more on business specific issues. Agility to respond to changing
business requirements is a key factor in speeding up the delivery of core technology services.
The hybrid cloud environment offers this ability, along with a good balance between resources
managed on-premise and by outsourced service providers. It goes a long way to help enterprises
save on time, money and in-house resources with an improved focus on the delivery of actual
business value instead of IT services or infrastructure.
How Quickly Are Enterprises Moving To A Hybrid Cloud
Platform…
Enterprises are slowly recognizing the fact that there is a difference between private cloud and
public cloud. Private cloud can also be described, as mass virtualization of resources and this is
the primary reason for many private cloud implementations not meeting their desired goals.
Enterprises are turning to hybrid cloud, as a result, where they get a combination of private and
the public model that enables them to innovate and iterate faster at a lower cost.
…And Are They Satisfied With A Hybrid Model
Using a private or public cloud is easy; however, mixing them to deliver a service can become
challenging. For operating a hybrid cloud model, application, integration, and data architectures
need to be revisited, sometimes tweaked, while other times overhauled. New tools for
deployment, monitoring, and management are required. Additionally, IT teams must develop
new skills to collaborate more closely. And beyond the technology stack, there are still tough
lessons to be learned in compliance, operational support, and financial management.
The Future – What Does It Hold For Hybrid Clouds
4. Hybrid clouds are a stepping-stone in the transition of IT from a technology provider to a
solution provider. With a hybrid cloud, companies can enjoy the privacy of a private cloud and
the scalability and flexibility of a public cloud environment. Though there will be challenges and
roadblocks, enterprises will be more open to adopting a public cloud – driven not only because
of economic benefits and shared resources but also because of the flexibility and freedom to
choose between multiple vendors. Cloud-dependent technologies, such as Internet of Things
(IoT), real-time analytics, and collaboration, will continue to evolve the end-customer
relationship, which in turn will require public cloud solutions to meet scale and time-to-market-
challenges.
The stakes are high, as those who figure it out first will gain a significant advantage in agility,
efficiency, and elasticity unshared by their market rivals. Now is the time to start plotting the
path to the future and to move up the cloud learning curve.
