 The name is an homage to Steven Spielberg and comes from a line
uttered by Roy Scheider in the 1975 feature Jaws. Martin Brody says to

 Research scientists at the Osaka Bioscience Institute made a shocking
discovery when researching human vision. Scientists and doctors
worldwide will now need to add a new word to their expansive
vocabulary, particularly those involved with human vision.
 It is a protein discovered and named by a group of 18 Japanese research
scientists at the Osaka Bioscience Institute. The protein's function and
properties bear similarity to its namesake , _______.
 The protein is used for transmitting signals (electrical impulses) from
the human eyes to the brain. It is also used heavily in the eyes to assist
tracking of moving objects. Without it, these electrical impulses sent
from the eyes to the brain would take around three to four times as
long to reach their destination.

a recreation of the Greek Caduceus symbol. Foreign fans might be confused by
this, because the correct symbol is the rod of Asclepius, the healer, a similar
symbol having only one coiled snake and no wings. However, within the US, the
Caduceus is as commonly used as the more correct Rod of Asclepius, as its use
was popularized around the turn of the century. As the Caduceus is actually the
symbol of merchants and thieves, its use has long been a point of controversy
and satirical humor within the US medical community.

 The plot revolves around three scary stories told by the X children in the
family's treehouse.
 The first segment involves a haunted house that is based on various theatrical
haunted houses, primarily The Amityville Horror and Poltergeist.
 In the second segment, Kang and Kodos are introduced when the X are
abducted by aliens.
 In the third, Y’s Z is adapted. James Earl Jones guest starred in all three
segments. The episode was received positively, being included on several
critics' "best of" lists.
 Critics singled out Z for praise, although X creator was concerned that it

 Born Y Little (and later also known as el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz) in Omaha,
Nebraska, on 19 May 1925, he was the fourth of eight children of the Reverend
Earl Little and his wife, Louise.
 In 1941 he moved to Boston to live with his half sister, Ella. He became caught
up in the nightlife of Boston and, later, New York. After a few years in the
underworld of Harlem, selling drugs and working for call-girl services, he began
a burglary ring in Boston. In 1946, at the age of twenty-one, he was arrested for
armed robbery and sent to prison.

 On September 9, 2002, he was lured to a Beverly Hills hotel on the
pretext of being interviewed for a Japanese children's television show
on the subject of space.
 When he arrived, Bart Sibrel accosted him with a film crew and

liar”, he punched Sibrel in the jaw, which was caught on camera by
