12. 6) Id X.
The place name X is attested in this area since at least 1711, though how this
came to be is unknown. The origin of the word X itself is obscure. It was once
used to reference a _______-shaped pin stuck in the edging of a row boat to act
as a pivot for the oar (also known as a "thole pin" or "dole pin").It was used as
early as the 16th century for a cylindrical object such as a X glass (test tube). The
name, then written as “______", was first applied to X Island, located offshore
from the present-day town of X. This use was recorded in 1711 and 1775, and the
name was thereafter applied to the X Arm of Trinity Bay and other local physical
features. Social scientist William Baillie Hamilton notes that Captain James Cook
and his assistant Michael Lane, who mapped Newfoundland in the 1760s, often
displayed a sense of humour in the place names they chose, and were not above
selecting names that might offend over-sensitive readers. Regardless of the
origin, the name has brought the town of X a measure of notoriety. In the 20th
century there were several campaigns to change the name, though all failed.

20. 10) Id X & Y.
In 1966 George Harrison married Pattie Boyd, a model he met during the
filming of “A Hard Day's Night”. During the late 1960s, Clapton and Harrison
became close friends. Clapton contributed uncredited guitar work on
Harrison's song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on The Beatles' White
Album, and Harrison co-wrote and played guitar pseudonymously (as
L'Angelo Misterioso) on Cream's "Badge" from Goodbye. However,
between his tenures in Cream and Blind Faith, Clapton fell in love with
Boyd. The title, “X", was inspired by the story of Y, Clapton had been told
the story by his friend Ian Dallas, who was in the process of converting to
Islam. Nizami's tale, about a moon princess who was married off by her
father to a man she didn't love, resulting in ______'s madness, struck a

Clapton in 1979 during a concert stop in Tucson, Arizona. Harrison was not

26. 13) Which mission are we talking about?
Who are pursuing this mission?
The mission relies on building the lightest spacecraft ever flown -
a tiny ‘nanocraft’ weighing less than a gram which would be
fitted with a small sail.
Back on Earth a huge array of laser beams will be fired up into
space, coming together to form a 100 gigawatt beam of light
which will blast the tiny craft off into the solar system,
accelerating to speeds of 100 million miles per hour.
Although Voyager One has ventured outside the Solar System,
and is currently in interstellar space, no spaceship has ever
reached another star system.
28. 14)Id P, X & Y.
The video to “P" shows X! members Y and Z accompanying girlfriends to see
friends at an unspecified ski resort: the cable-car that can be seen in two shots is
from Saas-Fee, Switzerland. It becomes clear early on, that the character of Z's
girlfriend was previously in a relationship with Y, and that the song is aimed at
her. She can easily be spotted throughout the video by the fact that she's usually
wearing red, but everyone else is wearing more muted colors. There is a brief
flashback to “P" showing Y's character presenting her with a jewelled brooch. In
the present time, Z is wearing the brooch, suggesting that the girl gave the same
gift to her new love after she and X parted ways. Interestingly, when the girl
wears the brooch from Y's character, it is "right side up" and when Z's character
wears it, he wears it "upside down". On numerous occasions Y presents a
thoughtful expression, suggesting his conflicting emotions. Her seeming
indifference to Z's open displays of affection makes the viewer wonder if
Ridgeley's heart is the next to be broken. However, at the end of the video,
everyone leaves properly "paired off" so perhaps it is suggested that Y has
worked out his confusion and now realizes he is after all with the right girl.
30. 15) Id X & Y.
J. Wellington X, generally referred to as X, is one of the characters in the
long-running comic strip Y, created by E. C. Segar and originally called
Thimble Theatre, and in the Y cartoons based upon the strip. X was one of
the dominant characters in the newspaper strip, but when Y was adapted as
an animated cartoon series by Fleischer Studios, he became a minor
character. The character seems to be inspired by someone whom Segar
encountered during his career. According to fellow cartoonist Bill Mauldin,
the name was suggested by that of Wellington J. Reynolds, one of Segar's
instructors at the Chicago Art Institute. His personality was based upon that
of William Schuchert, the manager of the Chester Opera House where Segar
was first employed. "Windy Bill", as he was known, was a pleasant, friendly
man, fond of tall tales and hamburgers.
32. 16)What phrase was born out of this?
X was a king of Phrygia, a region nowadays part of Turkey. One day some of his farmhands
brought him a satyr they had caught napping in the vineyard. This creature, part man, part
goat, still groggy and much the worse for wear, had been thoroughly trussed up to keep him
from escaping. X immediately recognized Silenus, right-hand satyr to the god Dionysus, and
ordered him set free. Silenus explained that he and his master had just returned from the East
where they had been engaged in spreading the cultivation of the grape. Dionysus had brought
back a tiger or two, an ever-expanding flock of followers and one very drunken satyr. Silenus
had conked out in X's vineyard to sleep it off. Now he was grateful to the king for treating him
with dignity, and so was Dionysus. The god was so pleased, in fact, that he offered to grant
whatever X should wish for. Now, you didn't get to rule a kingdom in those days without a
pretty active grasp of what makes for a successful economy. X didn't have to think twice. As
the simplest plan for the constant replenishment of the royal treasury, he asked that
___________________________. Arching a godly eyebrow, Dionysus went so far as to ask if X
were sure. To which the king instantly replied, "Sure I'm sure." So Dionysus waved his
pinebranch sceptre and conferred the boon.
34. 17) ID the website.
Pornography is broadly illegal in India. As a result the original website was
censored by the Indian government under its anti-pornography laws. This was
met with criticism from the likes of prominent Indian libertarian bloggers and
journalist Amit Varma. Eventually the mainstream media columnists joined in
criticizing the ban as reflecting a "meddlesome, patriarchal mindset" of a "Net
Nanny" government. This resulted in an online movement to save the website
from being destroyed. Initially the creators of the site chose to remain
anonymous, going under the assumed collective name Indian Porn Empire.
However in 2009, the creator of the site Puneet Agarwal, a second generation
Indian living in the UK revealed his identity in an attempt to fight against the
ban. However a month later, due to family pressure he announced his decision
to take down the comic strip. The presence of a character bearing a resemblance
to Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan also met with criticism on Indian
television channels.

brawl.”

40. 20) Making of what?
In 1823, while trying to find uses for the waste products of gasworks, X noted
that naphtha - one of the by-products of tar - dissolved india rubber. This
discovery led to his invention of Y; he took wool cloth, painted one side of it with
the rubber preparation, and placed another thickness of wool cloth on top. This
formed the essence of his patent, which he filed soon after, and began
manufacturing _____ and other _________ using the fabric. However, the
invention was not perfect, and problems soon developed. In the process of
seaming a garment, tailors punctured the fabric, allowing ____ to penetrate; the
natural oil in woollen cloth caused the rubber cement to deteriorate; and, in the
earlier years, the garments became stiff in winter and sticky in hot weather. The
X was greatly improved when vulcanised rubber, which resisted temperature
changes, became available in 1839. This made the garments less sticky and
much more durable.
