Media Evaluation Questions 1 & 2
Matters At HandFor my Media Coursework, I had to work on creating a Music Magazine Cover. This is meant to teach me methods of using Media Tools such as Photoshop & InDesign.
Rule Of ThirdsWays that I can use the forms of conventional Media Products is the idea of the rule of third. This means having to use an invisible line that will align the main image with an area of comfort on the cover, making sure that image catches the Audience in the eye. It can also act as a way to split the Magazine Cover into separate Parts, making it easier to determine what type of information goes on each part.
TagLinesAnother Convention used for this would be that of Taglines, filling in every gap on the Page. This’ll make sure that I can be able to fill as much detail of what is inside the magazine and teasers for my Double Page Spread in the Shot as possible. This will make the Audience curious as to what my Magazine may contain and may choose to pick it up.
Develops & ChallengesOf course, What will challenge the Forms of Media is that fact of what my Image is about.Since the Image combines the faces of two different creatures, the methods of making sure that both faces align with each other would be a very difficult challenge. However, this will help develop the Skills on Photo Manipulation and help make my Magazine stand out more from the conventional work pieces.
Representing Social GroupMy Media product can be used to represent particular Social Groups, by showing whoever may be in my Magazine being in the Same Age Group as my Audience.
How It’s Shown On My Cover? This can be shown on my Cover piece, since my Artist is shown to be around the 17-20 Age Area.Of course, the Miss-En-Scene that the cover represents, may give the idea of either, Rock, Metallic or Punk crowd for the Artist. This can be noted with the use of Dark clouds in the Background or the obvious outfit of her in a Black Matrix style jacket. Of course, since my Audienceis mainly addressed to IndieMusic, the genre of Music would possibly not matter in the Covers case.
