 My groups preliminary task was not up to a good standard of work
because we were all just getting used to the equipment at hand as well as,
we didn’t know what to do and what to expect from it. Although the
preliminary task is not the best it still gave us a good overview of what
could be happening when we would get to the real and finished product
which will get us the correct grade.
 Are preliminary task can be very good because of the camera shots we
used such as over the shoulder shot, wide shot, medium shot and a close
up on the characters faces.
 My final film was a big improvement compared to the preliminary task
because it has a more variety of shots and is also longer than the other
film with a better quality of camerawork, which then allows you to get all
the correct angles for the film.
 As well as this, the quality of the acting and the places we go with this
film are a lot better and more consistent when compared to using all the
new places we used to find and make the film the best as possible. When
filing we also used a more steady hand while being able to use all the
good qualities of the editing software corel.
Comparison
Preliminary task Final Film
• The Preliminary task had some of the shots that
was used when it come to the final film because
it was a lot shorter version.
• The Preliminary task didn’t have any good
editing skills put into it because everyone was
getting used to the software type.
• The same camera was used so we are able to get
the same quality of shot in the both types of
films.
• In the preliminary task we didn’t have the best
opening titles for the first time.
• The final film used a lot more variety of shots
because of the different scenes that were used
and filmed for the opening sequence of our
film.
• As well as this the film has a lot more used of
editing skills. The skills used which will then
help improve our film are fading in and out of
shots, inputting music into the film and
inputting text and images into the film.
• The final film is a lot longer compared to the
preliminary task which shows how much more
we got to film and were trusted to use the
camera outside of school.
• Although the final film had the own production
companies and different sections on the film
and set up team.
 The Films were a lot different and this was down to the planning because
we didn’t have a long amount of time when it come to the preliminary
task when, compared to the final film.
 When we were starting the final film we needed to create a storyboard
and a how new and multiple scripts which allowed us to try and keep as
organised as possible because then we would be able to go straight into
the film. The film started with us writing one script which was a rough
draft because we were able to start the filming although, the script did
need to be re-wrote another 2 times so it would allow us to help get the
script correct.
 Another thing Planning help us with was getting the places and who
would act in each scene because, we would then be able to get everyone
costumes correct and the places we filmed. The film also needed us to
have a range of camera shots that could be used for the film.
 Editing was a big difference between the two tasks because I was then
able to learn how to use all the different types of ways to edit and what
you can do with the software.
 The first thing I leant was how to import all different types of videos,
pictures and writing which will then be able to find and put all the film
together. When importing videos into the film it took us a long time
because we needed to collect all the screens and films from the camera
and, put them in the correct order.
 Another part of the editing software that helped us create the film was
using all the different transitions which helped combine all the different
scenes in the film when compared to having them all just flick back and
fourth. This helped us make a better film because then it would be able to
flow back and fourth from the different scenes especially if we used cross-
cutting.
 My overall evaluation of the film was a big improvement when compared
to the preliminary task because I was then able to learn about a lot more
things and learn about the different types of software I had used.
 The problem with the final film was that we were not organised as well
as, we should have been because we left all the editing and some of the
re-shoots to the last minute which meant everything would be left in a
rush.
 Although, my overall opinion on the film is that all the work come out
very well but I think we needed to be organised more than this year.
 The things I have learnt from the two tasks is now I am bale to perform in
a bigger role in a film. As well as this, I am able to edit all different types
of work as well as, help create a good film.
