Question 6: What have you learnt
about technologies from the process
   of constructing this product?
I used a range of different technologies to construct my
            media product. These included:

 - Adobe InDesign CS6
 - Adobe Photoshop CS6
 - Microsoft Word
 - 8 GB iPhone 4
 - Blogger
 - Slideshare
I used my own iPhone 4 to take the
pictures incorporated in my media
product. I used it as its camera quality
was very good to use, it contains a 5-
megapixel iSight camera, VGA-quality
photos and videos at up to 30 frames per
second with the front camera, the ability
to focus video or still images, LED flash
and photo and video geotagging.

After taking my pictures I uploaded them
to my laptop which I then sent to my
email to utilise on photoshop.
After I received my images on email I began to crop and
delete any coloured background that wasn’t white.
Unfortunately, though I took the photos behind a white
wall, there was a heavy shadow on my photographs so I
had to cut them out. I wouldn’t of been able to do this
without the technology of photoshop.

As you can see in my pictures displayed below, through
the use of photoshop technology, I was able to remove
the background leaving the image of the model on their
own which enabled me to place this on my double page
spread on InDesign without the background.

It was InDesign that I used to create my magazine cover, double page
spread and contents page as well as previous drafts. When I designed
my first mock of a magazine back earlier in the year I was beginning to
learn features of this technology and ways to use it. As my skills
developed over the year I began to incorporate better and more
effective features to my actual media product. I began varying with
fonts, sizes, colours, borders and many more.

As my examples show below, the first magazine cover I created had
minor features and creativity, whereas my final product shows a more
sense of understanding of the technology and how I have used it to
  help create my magazine.

My first magazine attempt at the beginning of the course. My coursework piece, magazine cover, ‘’MOSH’’.
Without the technologies such as InDesign and
Photoshop, creating my magazine front cover, double page
spread and contents would have been much more labour
intensive. Computer software such as this make creating
these pieces a lot faster and easier to some extent.

Also, with the fortunate technology such as ‘iPhones’ I was
lucky enough to own one which allowed me to take good
quality pictures. Without this personal prop I would have
had a harder and longer time getting a camera to take my
photos.

It is due to these technologies that my media product is
completed. Without them I would most likely be working
on them still, so its these technologies that are important
as they speed up the time it takes to publish products such
as my own.
