The opening sequence of Gemini is generally directed towards the horror
audience and jump scare fans. The usual age rating of horror films are around 18
due to blood and gore (that would be seen later throughout the movie) although
the opening sequence shows no signs of this. That’s not to say that the younger
generation could not view the film because I’m sure teenagers like to get the
adrenaline rush that the slasher has to offer. The film is for both males and
females but is predominantly for men due to the gory, scary generic of the film.
Slasher films gave us the idea of making one of these films. In a slasher, the
general weapons are knifes, but in our sequence decided not to be so
stereotypical and chose to have a bear handed killer. Particularly the famous film
‘Halloween’, watching some of the scenes from the film inspired us and gave us
some ideas. We realized the killer would be more intimidating and scary to the
audience if they were masked, it’d make the person look more mysterious
compared to if you were able to see the killer’s identity
