Here I have discussed the age restriction our film would be given based on the BBFC post and how they decide the age limits on new film releases. Also, I have included the reasons as to why our film would fit into the age limit given.

1. Question 5:
We attracted our audience through many aspects, the main was
our choice of characters; we selected actors and actresses that
our audience will be able to identify with. Therefore we ensured
that they were realistic presentations of our target audience and
young people. This helped attract our target audience as they
would be able to relate themselves to the characters and the
things that they do. We also did this by choosing characters that
were similar to existing actors in the romantic-comedy genre.
We used the internet and technology in our plot to relate to a younger demographic
(aged 13-19) as this is what is very prominent in their own life’s and socialisation.
This also provided some familiarity for those who have seen 'A Cinderella Story' as
this film uses internet dating. This shot taken from this film is similar to shots used in
our own production.
We included things that we knew would make our audience laugh such as when
Oliver says he's sporty, juxtaposed with a shot of him falling over playing football and
with his height. This could be compared to the film '500 days of summer' when it
uses a expectations v reality split screen.
We took ideas from other films when it came to setting as we were trying to move
away from the convention of being set in a city. '500 days of summer’ involved
scenes in lots of places to keep their audience interested, including a bench on a
park. We included this idea in our production as we filmed lots of our production
outside, this creates romantic conventions as the characters are isolated from
anybody else.
