How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

Question 4
1. HOW DID YOU USE NEW MEDIA
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION
AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?
2. I used to generate research on my music genre, artist and target
audience. It enabled me to find details about the history and
progression of the indie/alternative genre, so I could ensure my
video fitted with the style and feel of the song. I also used Google to
research my artists previous work as well as work he has produced
since the release of my song too engage myself in his personal style
to try and reflect this in my work. To me this research was totally
invaluable in the pre-production and research stages of my music
video as it gave me access to a range of sources and gave me the
information needed to make sure my work suited my target
audience. Furthermore, Google was helpful in accessing forums to
better my Premiere Pro skills and develop my previous techniques to
ensure my editing was as good as it could be. In the digipak and
advert stages of development, Google helped me find similar
products to ensure my work would attract the correct target
audience and fit in well with other advertising of the genre.
3. I used this to generate a survey to research my target
audience. I wanted to access as many different
demographics as possible so emailed a wide range of ages
and genders. This allowed to me really engage in the most
likely target audience for my music video and their
likes/dislikes as well as stereotypes of them. I asked
questions like “who do you think is the stereotypical
audience of indie music videos?” and “what kind of clothes
do they wear/ hobbies do they have?”. This allowed me to
build a detailed profile of my target audience and alter my
music video to fit something that would first attract, then
4. In order to upload and therefore share my pre-
production work, I had to use slide share for
documents such as Microsoft word and PowerPoint.
After uploading the files to SlideShare I would take
the embed code and insert it into the html section
of my blog to make it available to everyone. This
allowed me to make sure all my work was
organised and uploaded to a place my teachers
could access it.
5. After using blogger for my AS work I grew familiar with its
functions so I wanted to use it again as I found it a good way to
collate all my research and work together. Also, it being online
allowed me to access the documents everywhere I went so I could
see them whilst filming at the click of a button as well as when
working at both home and school. This allowed me flexibility as
well as reducing paperwork on set as I could have it all on my
phone. The most helpful thing about blogger is the labelling which
allowed me to categorise my work into pre-production, production
and evaluation, making sure I could access information and
research quickly. Finally, having digital copies of things like my
storyboard meant I could show my actor the action I wanted to
capture in a specific shot to reduce the likelihood of needing to
re-shoot due to being more likely to have captured my intentions
6. Microsoft office played a big part in the
presentation and organisation of my pre-
production work. I used software such as Word
and Powerpoint to present my information of
genre, target audience, actors, props, costumes,
shot list, equipment list, and production schedule.
This was helpful as it allowed me to add images
and annotations to my ideas, building a more
rounded bank of information and giving me
considerable more detail to refer back to when
7. YouTube was key in the research stage of my music
video development. It allowed me to look into
similar videos of my genre and collate common
conventions so that I could incorporate these and
increase the appeal to my target audience. Also, the
online platform allowed me to share my work with a
wide audience and upload it to my blog to show the
final product of all my work. As the majority of my
target audience are of the teenager and young adult
age, they are likely to be active online users
meaning Youtube gave me the ability to access
8. During the editing stages of this project I learnt a wide range of
techniques using Premiere Pro. I focused more on things such as
colour grading and stabilising shots. I also developed my ability to
cut shots to musical beats while still maintaining a steady and
understandable narrative. Furthermore, I experimented with
backwards shots and slow motion to create contrast between
shots and concluding the narrative. Certain techniques such as
colour grading meant I could ensure the internal and external
settings all fitted together visually and made sure important
aspects stood out such as the writing on his t-shirt and face.
Although I used Premiere Pro for my AS film opening I feel as if my
confidence using the software has grown and I am no longer only
9. Photoshop was significant in the initial creation and continuous
development of my digipak and advert. Not only did I use my
prior basic skills of the software but developed my knowledge of
layering, altering opacity, creating filters and imputing online
imagery into my work such as social media logos. Using
Photoshop to make both my digipak and advert ensured there
was continuity between the final products meaning audiences can
link them together.
In the filming stages, I used a Canon 60D. I made sure I adjusted
the camera to the right exposure for each setting change and
manually focused each shot so that the main action was in focus.
This made it easier when editing to make the changes in location
flow into one another.
and Camera (60D)
10. These online presentation software have both been helpful in
organizing and displaying my evaluation work for my music video.
Due to these programs being similar to PowerPoint I took skills
developed from making PP presentations to make my presentation
interesting and visually pleasing. I was able to use different
designs for each of my questions and then using the embed code I
could insert the finished products straight into the HTML sections
of my blog. This made the sharing of my questions quick and
efficient. The diversity in designs could be attractive to a modern
audience with the need for constant change and progression to
effectively take in the information they’re accessing. This attracts
directly to my target audience of my music video as they’re
