WHOWOULD BE
THE AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT?
Alice Mee
LIFESTYLE
 The lifestyle of our audience would consist of lower middle class and
middle class society as it is set around business working people and
involves legal procedures with the police.
 We've aimed our film at these type of people because we feel it would
be more emotional and a mysterious thriller as they could relate the
story to them. This fits in with the genre we went for, a mystery thriller.
AGE
 Our film is aimed at 15+, we decided to give it a 15 rating as there is
crime and murder involved and think that those under this age wouldn’t
be suited to see the ‘blood’ and ‘weapons’ shown throughout the film.
 Audience members over 25 years would be more interested in the
lifestyle and background of the characters in the film.Whereas those
younger audience members between 15 and 25 years would be
expected to watch purely for entertainment.
GENDER
 Both genders are aimed as audiences members for our film but for
different reasons. Femininity and masculinity.
 Women would be expected to be emotional and in fiery of what is to
happen to the women. The female audience members would be
expected to relate themselves to the character in the film and therefore
become emotional and feel sorry for the character as though it is true
what happened to her.
 Whereas men would be emotionless and only see the masculine side of
the story as the main male character looks after his wife. Me would be
more expected to see the violence expressed throughout the film.
PRE PRODUCTION RESEARCH
 We went on the internet and found audience profiles from similar films
to ours with a similar genre to see the what they liked and disliked
about these films.
 We then linked these to our film storyline and removed and changed
any parts which we thought were not suitable to our film due to the
audience profiles we read.
 We tried to relate our film the the interests of the members from the
audience profiles, and looked at the ratio of male to female who also
enjoyed the similar films.
 We used the audience profiles from previous films to target the
audience of our film.We decided to look at reviews and took tips and
compliments from the audience members of these films to fit them into
our film.
