2. I think that 'Invisible Lives' targets a more specific/specialist audience. I think because of its gritty
opening and unknown actors as well as having unknown directors it already narrows the appeal
to certain audiences.

3. Our thriller is aimed at a niche audience; due to the unknown actors and the low key
lighting, and dim scenes in our thriller, I feel that it would only appeal to a specific
audience; both male and female, from age 16 and above. Primarily our thriller is
targeted at a teenage female audience as they can empathise with our female
character position, and sympathise with her situation. An audience of this age also
feels more engaged with the main character, due to the similarity in age. Much like
‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’.

Tattoo’; it shows that females under 18 enjoyed this film the most, this is due to the fact
that they can engage with the character, and also makes it more realistic for that age range
of girls. This particular film is also liked by so many females of this age due to the fact that
the Lisbeth is strong willed, and powerful within the film.
Psycho is another film which is similar to our thriller due to the fact that Marion Crane is
stalked by Norman Bates within the film. I used the IMDB to find the user ratings to look up
which demographic enjoyed this film the most. The table below shows the results that I
found; that both male and females under the age of 18 enjoyed this film. Middle class
males aged 30-50 may also be interested in this film due to the fact they can relate to the
stalkers social class, costume, dominance, and status.

5. My audience would include both male and female audience due to the fact that the cast in
my thriller includes both male and female actors. However mostly a strong female
audience, the ratings from both films above tell me that our thriller would receive similar
user ratings than these.
Women aged 16-25 who enjoy films such as ‘This is England’, ‘Fish Tank’ and ‘The Girl with
the Dragon Tattoo’ would also enjoy our thriller, as these films attract a younger
audience, as well as addressing social issues. They may be interested in the homelessness of
young women, and concerned about the increasing number of women who are becoming
redundant due to the numerous cuts within the public sector, some of them may have even
experienced it themselves.
