Over the next few slides, I will
 show nine frames from my
   project which portrays
       various aspects.
The Title of the Film Special Effects Title Font & Style

The title of the film is called revenge which reflects on our chosen font. Rather than using black
writing, we chose two contrasting colours (black and grey) for emphasis. Black is a
mysterious colour associated with fear, death and the unknown. We used special
effects, whereby the words ‘Revenge’ slowly fall into place creating a more interesting title.
This was done using ‘After Effects’ which was later put on to ‘Final Cut’ where the film was put
                                            all together.

For the rest of our opening sequence
(credits), we used ‘Georgia’ as our font as
its clear and readable. The background
colour and writing however, remained the
same as black commonly has negative
connotations such as black death which we
intending to have the audience thinking
                                                                      about.
Costumes and Props

The bedroom scene shows three girls in their pyjamas watching a film. The
fact that in their pyjamas and have headscarves on creates a sense of
realism and allows the audience (in particular girls) to relate to what is
going on. Despite not being able to see it in this shot, there is
crisps, chocolates and drinks on the bed and on the side.
Camerawork

To show the main character going down the stairs, we showed a back
view of her walking down the stairs and changed to a front view of her
legs walking down the stairs (on the other side). This was done using
‘Final Cut’ in order for it to flow properly.
Setting/Location

The bedroom scene shows that the film is set
in and around the house such as the
stairs, and the front door; much like other
thriller films. From one setting to
another, the lighting slowly gets darker to
reflect the danger in which she is
shortly, going to face. The digetic sound also
comes to a sudden silence once ‘Shannon’
has left the room which allows the audience
                 to focus on her performance.
Genre and how the opening sets it up

The genre of the film is a thriller which is
why we chose to film outside in the night -
rather than in the day. With very little
lighting from the cars and streetlights, we
created a setting that builds up tension
which has occurred by the character being
placed in a situation where escaping seems
                                              impossible.

Story and how the opening sets it up

The opening sets up the story through
                                    this particular shot whereby the
                                 disguised character is seeking revenge.
Her life is seen as threatened because
she is involved in a dangerous or
                                   potentially deadly situation that is
                                   unknowing to the other characters.
Editing

Using ‘Final Cut’ we merge the two shots together in order for the door to open effectively. So
that the two shots could flow, we stopped the first shot to the point where the door was semi
open and began the second shot with it fairly open – so it could continue to open.

How characters are introduced
                                                 The characters are introduced when
they are seen to be screaming due to the
frightening scene in the film that was
                                                  being watched. They’re three girls
shown in their pyjamas which may
imply that they are having a slumber
party – a common event amongst girls.
